文章大意:本文主要讲述了作弊的种种形式,以及作弊的危害和不良后果。

1 . Cheating can happen in a lot of different ways. When people cheat, it’s not fair to other people, like the kids who studied for the test or who were the true winners of a game.

Many people like the action of cheating. It makes difficult things seem easy, like getting all the right answers on the test. But it doesn’t solve the problem of not knowing the material and it won’t help on the next test—unless the person cheats again.

Some people lose respect for cheaters and think less of them. The cheaters themselves may feel bad because they know they are not really getting that good grade. And, if they get caught cheating, they will be in difficulty at school, and maybe at home, too.

Some kids cheat because they are busy or lazy and they want to get good grades without spending the time studying. Other kids might feel like they can’t pass the test without cheating. Even when there seems to be a “good reason” for cheating, cheating isn’t a good idea.

If you were sick or upset about something the night before and couldn’t study, it would be better to talk with the teacher about this. And if you don’t have enough time to study for a test because of swim practice, you need to talk with your parents about how to deal with swimming and school.

A kid who thinks cheating is the only way to pass a test needs to talk with the teacher and his or her parents so that they can solve the problem together. Talking about these problems and working them out will help kids feel better than cheating.

文章大意:本文讲述关于自我放松的方式。

6 . As students, we should work hard at school, but having a good rest is also very important. Maybe the followings are useful to relax.

First of all, we should think about what exactly causes us to feel tired or stressed. According to the Mayo Clinic, a lack of exercise is the main reason for the feeling tired. With this in mind, finding the time to do light exercise during the day could make a huge difference to our mood (心情).

Light exercise includes really simple things like walking, cycling, or even doing housework. This means that if you normally take the bus or subway to school, you could try walking instead. Or when you get home from school, spend 30 minutes or so cleaning up or helping your parents to make dinner.

Being more active is a great way to relax. But yet another way to feel better about yourself could be to take up a hobby. “In fact, hobbies are just as important to good health as exercise is, thanks to their abilities to reduce stress,” according to the health magazine Shape. And having a hobby is one of the best ways people can show passion (热情) and leadership.

A hobby could be anything. It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it takes your mind off your daily worries. A new hobby could not only relax you, but it could also help you develop new skills. So, the next time you feel stressed, don’t forget to slow down and relax. Something as small as taking a quick run in the park could make a huge difference to your day.

You are going to school with a group of students of your age, and we have several suggestions to share.

Stay clean. No one likes a classmate with a bad smell. So you need to shower every day, brush your teeth and wash your hair. Try to make yourself look tidy, whatever you wear.

Forget your fear and just talk to someone. Take a deep breath and find your voice. Introduce yourself and start a conversation about something you have in common. Sit in the middle of the classroom with many new friends around you.

Differences are not a problem. Everyone has his own opinion of the world and everyone believes in different things. You’ll find it good to have friends with different ideas. In this way, you can share and learn a lot more from each other.

Join clubs. What clubs can you join? You can join the ones with after-school activities that interest you. Being in a club helps you be more social. If not, you will just go to class and then go home.

Ask others to join you. Are you sad being alone while others are playing happily? You will probably say “yes”. So remember to be kind to the people around you. If you see someone sitting alone, invite him or her to hang out or play games together.

8 . Recently a video on Bilibili got widespread attention. About 1, 000 students across China talked about what they didn’t want to be in the future. This was a bit unusual. Normally, people talk about the things they do want to do or be.

Well, it turns out that most of the students are unsatisfied with the present world. There are lots of big problems. Some have easy solutions and others don’t. Most adults have become tired and bored. In other words, they get tired and give up on having any dreams or hopes of being able to make the world a better place.

When I was a teenager, my parents told me I could do anything and be whatever it is that I wanted to be. I usually laughed and thought this was a bit silly. However, looking back, I was really thankful for their advice, support and help with my learning. I think this, plus (加) the excellent suggestions I got from several excellent teachers in high school and my experience as a summer camp counselor (辅导员), led me work in education. I’ve been looking for more ways to encourage my students to keep their dreams alive. I always encourage them to try to help make the world a better place. I have found that I have personally been able to achieve this in my job as a Director of College Counseling (咨询服务).

But how can you achieve what it is that you want to do? According to one of my favorite books, The Four Disciplines of Execution, there are four steps. Focus on your “wildly important purposes” (your “WIGs”), develop steps to achieve them, find out your progress, and finally check your progress. So what’s your WIG? Don’t be afraid; think positively (积极地) and dream big!

根据短文内容,判断正(T)、误(F)。
1. It’s usual to talk about the things people don’t want to do or be.
2. Most students get tired and give up on having any dreams or hopes.
3. Suggestions from parents and teachers were helpful to the writer.
4. The writer wants the students to make the world better.
5. The main idea of the passage is “Think positively and dream bravely”.

文章大意:本文主要介绍了电视的发展历程以及人们观看电视的变化。

9 . What programs do you like to watch? How do you watch them? TV has always entertained (娱乐) and given us information, but how we watch has changed a lot.

The first electronic black and white television was invented in the 1920s. Back then, TV sets were very expensive. As the price came down, more people bought one. In the 1950s, color television was shown for the first time. By the late 1960s, many people had color TVs.

In those days, programs were shown only at certain times. You had to be sure you turned on the TV set, or you missed your program. The VCR (videocassette recorder) was invented in the 1950s, and became popular in the 1970s and 1980s. VCRs allowed people to record a program or film and watch it later. In the 1990s, people began watching digital (数字化的) films on DVDs. They were of better quality (质量) than VCR tapes. By 1997, you could order a DVD from the Internet and it was sent to your house by post.

Now we can download TV shows and films directly to our TV sets. We even watch on our computers, tablets (平板电脑) and phones. This technology continues to improve. Just imagine how we’ll be watching in 100 years. People say that 3D TV and virtual reality (VR) — which makes you feel like you’re actually there — are the future. Whatever it is, we’ll be watching!

10 . You may have known about many traditional Chinese festivals such as the Spring Festival or the Lantern Festival, but have you ever heard of the Dragon Heads-raising Day?

After that day, the Dragon King will wake up from his winter sleep and bring more rain. So that day is the start of spring and farming season.

One of the most interesting things related to the day is about haircut. People believe that a haircut during the first lunar month is not a good idea. It may bring bad things to your uncles. So people can only cut it on or after the Dragon Heads-raising Day. Although it’s not true, many people still do it.

There are also other ways to celebrate this festival. For example, people eat food with dragon names. People call noodles dragon’s beard(胡须). Dumplings are dragon’s ears and spring rolls(春卷)are dragon’s scales(鳞).
