5 . In your spare time, do you help your parents with chores around the house? Can you cook for your family?

In order to stress (强调) the importance of hard-working spirit education (劳动教育) among students of different ages, the government made a guideline (指导方针).

“Families and schools play an important role in teaching students about the advantages of working hard,” the guideline says.

As children’s first teachers, parents could encourage children to learn how to do chores at home. Students should learn one or two life skills every year. These skills can include cooking, washing their own clothes, and tidying their rooms.

Schools should provide students with hard-working spirit classes every week, according to the guideline. Schools can also hold activities to give students real-world work experience.

10 . 阅读下面短文,从短文后所给的五个选项中选出能填入短文空白处的最佳选项,使短文通顺、连贯,意思完整。

I grew up in the countryside. At around 10 years old, I began to learn to cook.     1     Since my parents often came home late, prepared vegetable pies would help my family have supper sooner. I thought it would be easy because I often saw my mum do it. But it wasn’t like what I thought. It turned out to be a mess for a while. First I made the dough too soft. Then I made it too hard.     2     . Later, I cooked fried dishes and things like dumplings and I fell in love with cooking.     3     More importantly, thanks to my cooking skill, I live a better life. Now I cook every meal instead of ordering takeout. It not only saves money but also keeps us fit.

4     I got to know how to plant vegetables. Though it was hard work, the experience taught me things that many of my friends still don’t know. I once discussed this with my friends from the city. They thought it was a pity that they didn’t have the chance to learn these things in their lives.

Some might say we can learn these things from textbooks.     5     The experience brings a new way to look at the world.

A.It’s a good way to relax.
B.But as I kept trying, I learned the trick.
C.But it isn’t the same as learning by doing.
D.The first skill I learned was making vegetable pies.
E.Besides cooking, I did a lot of farm work in my childhood.
