After finishing his dinner, Lin Xu opened a mini-program (小程序) called “Clear Plate” and took a photo of his empty plates. He was then awarded (奖励) some credit points which can be used to buy something or give charity meals to old people and children in need.

The “Clear Plate” mini-program was produced by Liu Jichen, a student from Tsinghua University in 2018. The idea to develop such a mini-program came from Liu’s experience in a restaurant.
