4 . Exercising regularly not only helps you keep slim, but also improves your overall health and well-being. Different exercises produce different results, as they focus on alternate parts of the body. There are four broad exercise categories: endurance, strength, flexibility, and balance. Many people often only focus on one exercise type, but including all four in your workout will produce better results and reduce your risk of injury.
Endurance
Endurance exercises increase your breathing and heart rate. By doing endurance exercises, you are working to keep your heart, lungs, and blood-flow system healthy while improving your total fitness. Over time these activities will make everyday activities seem easier.
Strength
If you want to build up your muscles, then strength exercises, which are also known as “resistance training”, are right for you. Even the slightest increase in strength can make a huge difference in your ability to carry out daily tasks. Developing strong muscles also reduce your risk of weak bones.
Flexibility
Flexibility exercises help stretch your body’s muscles. This allows for more freedom of movement for other exercises and can also improve your range of motion, posture, ability to breathe deeply, and blood flow. Also, it reduces the muscle tension caused by stress.
Balance
Balance exercises help prevent falls and are especially important to older adults, helping them stay independent. Most good balance exercises are ones that keep you constantly moving with your feet on the ground. Heel-to-toe walking and standing on one foot are simple ways to improve balance.

6 . Nowadays, in many places of the world, kids play soccer less than before.
Soccer is a team sport.
Teamwork is a life skill that kids need to learn. Being part of a team isn’t just about learning how to work together and share talents. It’s also about teaching kids how to face failure. It doesn’t end there, either. Being part of a team lets kids know how to take responsibility for their behavior.
Soccer shapes motor skills (运动技能).
Nowadays, many kids prefer to stay in their rooms to have fun through TV, video games and smartphones.
Soccer can improve students’ concentration (专注) in the classroom. Besides, soccer is a fast-paced game, so kids can learn how to solve problems quickly. Plus, soccer is a sport which involves getting the ball from point A to point B. So kids’ visual-spatial (视觉空间) ability can be improved when they play the game, which can help them learn subjects like Physics.

7 . The application of sports science has greatly improved the performances of China's snowboarders at the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics(残奥会), according to the team's coaches.
Last summer, the Chinese riders had detailed physical examination at the Shanghai University of Sports, providing the coaching team with detailed information on each athlete's strengths and weaknesses, coach Zhang Hongzhan said.
"The assessments have allowed us to identify which muscles the athletes have to work harder on. With that information, we can then design personal and professional training plans for each athlete. Without a doubt, sports science has played a key role in helping the para athletes achieve better performances, "Zhang said on Wednesday.
"What's more, sports science has also helped coaches better understand the unique body structures of the para athletes so they can work on their weaknesses while avoiding moves that can lead to injuries, "He added.
The sports science team at the university built a start-gate simulator(模拟器) to measure the force that SB-UL para athletes (Snowboarders with arm disabilities)place on the handle bars.
"The simulator can show that I put on too much strength on the right side because my disability is on my left hand. So I need to start weight training on my left arm to keep the strength balanced on both handle bars. The simulator has helped me gain an advantage at the start gate, " said Ji Lijia who won gold in the snowboard men's cross SB-ULevent at Genting Snow Park in Zhangjiakou on Monday.
Besides the sports science team, China's snowboard team at the Beijing Winter Paralympics also has a team of psychology experts to offer support to para athletes. "We can always get instant support, whether there is a problem with the equipment or the athletes are feeling stressed, " athletes said.

10 . Is running a marathon (马拉松) under two hours possible? Will a human ever be able to run that fast? Now, the world record for the 42.195km (26.219 miles) distance is held by the Kenyan runner Eliud Kipchoge. His time of 2:01:39 hours was achieved at the Berlin Marathon of 2018.
But studies published in the past have come to the conclusion that running a marathon under 2 hours can be done. They even see a time of around 1:57 as the fastest a human can ever run. However, we may have to wait longer for this to happen.
To achieve an under two-hour marathon, an athlete would have to have the perfect body size and weight, the right running plans and of course, the right nutrition (营养). Today’s perfect runners come from Kenya and Ethiopia, countries that have dominated (占优势) long distance races for years. East African athletes have long legs and lungs that can take in lots of oxygen (氧). Training at high altitudes (海拔) gives them a strong heart. Ideal weather conditions with cool temperatures and no wind will also be needed to attempt such a mark. An extremely fast marathon would only be possible on flat city courses, like Berlin or London.
Since the beginning of the modern Olympic Games in 1896, athletes have tried to run long distance races as fast as possible. In 1900, the marathon world record was at around 3 hours. In the following 30 years, men were able to reach a mark of 2:30. But in the last 15 years, the world record has improved by only 3 minutes.
On the other side, some experts think that such fast performances will only be possible with the help of some medicine.
