We all know that running is good for your health. It may help to protect against heart disease and other health problems. It also may help you live longer.
Take it easy
Listen to your body
Most running injuries do not come out of the blue.
Get good running shoes
Take good notes
Take some time after each run to write down notes about what you did and how you felt. Look for patterns, things that happen over and over again. For example, you may find that your knees ache when you run on consecutive(连续的) or back-to-back days. But perhaps you feel great when you rest in between running days.
Cross train
As we said earlier, running is hard on your body. So physical fitness experts suggest some form of cross training to improve muscle balance and to help you stay injury free. They say swimming, cycling, and yoga are good exercises to combine with running. These exercises are easier on the body.

6 . For athletes and volunteers, next year’ s Tokyo Olympics could become known as the Get-Up-Early Games.
Hoping to beat the summer heat in the Japanese capital, organizers said on Tuesday they will start the men’s 50-kilometer race walk final at 5:30 am, while the men’s and the women’ s marathon finals will go at 6 am. The men's and the women's triathlon start at 7:30 am. The women's softball has games scheduled for 9 am, but no men's baseball games will start before noon. Softball and baseball were dropped after the 2008 Olympics, and are appearing because of their popularity in Japan.
The 1964 Tokyo Olympics were held in the autumn and did not face heat problem. Modern Olympics can no longer be held during that time, avoiding Europe's crowded soccer schedule, and year-round scheduling of baseball, basketball and hockey in the US Koji Murofushi, sports director of the Tokyo Games, said organizers had consulted about scheduling with the International Olympic Committee (IOC). "Athletes, when they know the schedule ahead of time, can make adjustments (调整) to their preparations, "he said.
The swimming finals will begin at 10:30 am. The swim schedule has nothing to do with the heat and will follow the pattern of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Organizers say the first gold medal event will be the women's 10-meter air rifle, which will take place on July 25 — the day after the opening ceremony. Organizers have labeled Aug 8 — the day before the closing ceremony — as "Super Saturday", with about 30 finals, the most of any single day. Finals will include the men's basketball, the men's soccer and the men's baseball.
The most difficult event to schedule might be surfing, which is a four-day competition. The schedule changes depending on the wave conditions.

7 . For some people, walking or running outdoors is a great way to work out. What may not be so pleasant is seeing trash all over the ground. Well, some people are doing something about it. They are logging!
“Plogging” began in Sweden. The name combines the Swedish word “plocka” which means to pick up, and the word “Jogging”, which means to run slowly. A Swedish man named Erik, started the movement in 2016. On the World Environment Day website, Erik says that he moved to Stockholm from a small community in northern Sweden. Each day he would ride his bike to work.
Concerned about the amount of trash and litter he saw each day on his way to work, he took matters into his own hands.
Flogging, by that term, may have officially begun in Sweden. But many people who exercise outdoors have been doing this for years. Take Jeff Horowitz, for example. He is a personal trainer in Washington D.C. He often picks up trash while running outside. He even has turned it into a game. He will try to pick up the trash without stopping. “I didn’t know it was a thing really. This is just my personal ethics (道德标准) where I go for a run and if I happen to see a piece of garbage lying around and it’s within reach — it is a kind of a little test for me to see if I can grab it and throw it in a near trash can without stopping. And that way, I think, it gives me a little exercise and a little focus for my run. And it helps clean up the neighborhood,” he announced.
Today, logging is an official activity, one that is becoming increasingly popular. Cities around the world now hold plogging events. “I would just hope people would think twice before dropping a garbage on the ground. We have containers…seems on every block. So, it’s easy to put your garbage in the trash cans. I just think people should think about it a little bit more. I do hope one day there will not be a need for logging.” said an interviewee.

8 . I had only swum in open water a few times, and always in gentle lakes, so I wasn’t prepared for how rough Lake Windermere appeared on a cold day.
Most of the people taking part were doing a one-mile race, and 10 races were planned over the weekend. There seemed to be a mix of open-water enthusiasts (爱好者) alongside complete beginners. The aim of the swims is to get as many people as possible completing their own challenge.
I had chosen the third one-mile race of the day. There were over 600 people in my race. We were taken through a children’s padding (戏水) pool-sized part of the lake, where we moved in to feel how cold the water was. “Not too bad” was everyone’s thought! Then we headed out towards the middle of the lake.
We’d been warned that the first 100 meters would be really rough. However, somewhere near the 750m mark I was still waiting for the calm; it felt more like swimming in the sea than a lake. I tried to focus on my breathing and technique, and just keep going. As I was near the 400m-to-go mark, my lower right leg became painful. I kept swimming, trying to get through the pain, but it didn’t work. I began to feel the entire leg tight and painful. I didn’t want to stop, so I bent my right knee and just kicked with the left leg.
Finally I saw the finishing post (杆), and just concentrated on getting there — still one-legged. My finishing time was 38 minutes 25 seconds but that didn’t matter — everyone felt a sense of achievement (成就感), whatever their time. I’m hooked, and want to give it another go. I’ve already signed up for my next open-water swim.

9 . How to Stay Fit and Beautifully Healthy
Find the time.
You will see the most benefits from exercise if you do it regularly. One good way to make it a habit is to pick a form of exercise that you enjoy. For example, if you like swimming, make it a point to swim twice a week.
Go outdoors.
There are definitely some benefits to work out at a gym — air conditioning and televisions are a few.
Use your local parks.
Many parks will have great areas for running or walking.
Be social.
If you involve other people in your exercise routine, you’ll see a positive impact in your results. Finding a workout friend can help with responsibilities. If you schedule an activity with a friend, you are less likely to cancel than if you were only canceling on yourself. Group exercise classes also offer benefits.
