1 . Summer Badminton Camp

Our annual badminton camps are back this June holidays! Come and join us for some fun and action! All camps will be held at the Chestnut Sports Hall. There are a total of 4 fun-filled camps lined up for this amazing holiday. The aim is to allow them to understand and lift their game to the next level or just for recreation, at the same time adding fun elements in training to build a strong interest in the sport.

2 . About twenty years ago, a new yoga teacher with related qualifications (资格) began her day practicing yoga on the beach. Over time, a few local beach lovers joined in and before she knew it, she was leading classes every morning and evening. After the word spread, local teachers offered to assist and the unique yoga classes were born. After that, the teacher moved to India, but her legacy (遗留) lives on. We aim to ensure people can come into contact with and afford yoga 365 days a year. Classes are all donation based. Our teachers offer yoga from the heart and do not get paid.

People around the world have practiced yoga for thousands of years, and millions of people currently enjoy its health benefits. Being outside can enhance the yoga experience in many ways, since nature inspires all the things — focusing awareness, breathing deeply, practicing stillness. We attach great importance to outdoor practice, through which you can feel the union with nature. Through every practice, we help some people who want to change.

We provide you with mostly two kinds of classes. Private beach classes include yoga, stretching, and partner yoga. We tailor the class to your requirements. If you are planning a corporate event or yoga classes, we can help make it fun, motivating and exciting.

3 . The concept of “Smart Asian Games” is deeply rooted in all aspects of preparations for Hangzhou Asian Games. Zhejiang promotes the intelligent level of Hangzhou Asian Cames with advanced technologies, and strives to present a spectacular event.

The intelligent operation & maintenance platform makes venue(场馆)management more elaborate. In Asian Games Intelligent Management Centre, various data of Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Stadium and Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Tennis Centre such as venue energy consumption, visitor flow and traffic flow are recorded in the intelligent management platform, which is convenient for working personnel to conduct management. In addition, the smart venue management system of Tonglu Equestrian(马术)Centre also integrates meteorological(气象学的)monitoring data, to carry out real-time monitoring for weather conditions around venues, and provides guarantee for event operation.

Smart robots offer more efficient services. At Gongshu Canal Sports Park Gymnasium, smart robots can provide venue guides, event explanation, question answering and other services for audiences, and can also start the automatic patrol(巡逻)function. Moreover, the intelligent monitoring system of each venue can detect faults and inform relevant personnel on time for handling.

Advanced technology achieves a better watching experience. On the external road of Shaoxing Baseball & Softball Sports Centre, the self-driving bus decorated with Hangzhou Asian Games element patterns shuttles among Asian Games venues to facilitate the travel of audiences. Passengers can also enhance the watching experience by adjusting the interior lighting and temperature on the intelligent screen of the vehicle. Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee launches Smart Hangzhou 2022 as the first one-stop digital watching service platform in the history of the international large-scale comprehensive sports events. It provides the one-stop service from ticket purchase, travel and watching to accommodation, catering and tourism.

4 . Battle of wits(智力)

Do you feel a rush during discussions about your favorite sport? Do you experience excitement when discussing your favorite team with your friends? Are you the one who turns to the last few pages of a newspaper first to run through the sports columns?

SPJIMR’s SPRINT brings to you Battle of Wits, the flagship sports quiz. Your chance to go head-to-head with sports enthusiasts from B-Schools across the country is here. Will you be able to stand till the end to win this battle?

Participation is open to all B-School students either in teams of 3 or as a lone wolf. There is no restriction on the number of teams participating from the same B-School. In the case of 3 members, all must be from the same institute.

This event has two rounds: A Preliminary(预备的) round which will take place on Dare2Compete on 20 October and then the Finals which will take place on Zoom on 26 October. The top 8 teams will qualify for the Finals. However, in case multiple teams from the same B-school top the charts, only the top 2 teams from that B-School will be allowed to play in the Finals. The qualifying teams will be announced on https://sprint-spjimr.com/ on 23 October.

The Finals will be conducted in a Pounce-Bounce format. The exact details of the format will be announced on the above website on 24 October.

7 . My favorite activity is playing, watching, reading, and really anything to do with basketball. A basketball court (球场) is where I feel most at home.

As I see it, it’s wildly popular in the US and its athletes are extremely recognizable, because it’s the one sport where an athlete’s face is not covered up by a football helmet (头盔) or baseball hat. My favorite time and place is anywhere and anytime. I prefer indoors, although it can be played outdoors. Many people often play in a driveway at home, but the best is always against someone on a court.

I started playing basketball because of my favorite player, Shaquille O’Neal. He was a huge, unstoppable player. When I was 11 years old, I decided to go outside to the family basketball hoop (球框) and take a shot (投球). This was my first time ever shooting a basketball. I will never forget the first shot I ever took. It was perfect. It felt amazing! And I’ve been in love with this sport ever since!

I learned a long time ago that very few people are going to have the love of this game that I do. I’ve always understood that in this area, for the most part, I am alone. Especially coming from the state of Texas, where football is king.

I’m not the best of players. When I do good things on court, I know it’s because I can make up for my lack (缺乏) of athleticism by being a student of the game. I’ve never missed a training day. I don’t worry about school, family, or problems. I think about what’s in front of me, and how I can get the basketball in the hoop.

Playing, watching, and reading about basketball fills me with a sense of enjoyment that I truly do feel that very few people can match.

9 . Ian Happ is a professional baseball player for a baseball team in the United States. When he first started playing with the team in 2017, he was looking for pictures to hang in his home. An idea and an unlikely partnership with a British artist came from that simple desire.

Happ wanted to show Wrigley Field, the team’s ballpark, from a different artistic vision. He said that many baseball fans had been to Wrigley Field but had never seen what the ballpark looked like, from the field. He thought looking up from the field was such a cool experience that he intended to bring that to more fans. So, from his point of view, he let the British artist Patrick Vale create three large drawings of Wrigley Field. Instead of having pictures hung in his home, the partnership led to something quite different.

Happ’s views of Wrigley Field became the project, Through My Eyes, in which fans could purchase prints. The money made in this way went toward those people in need. The drawings by Vale became See What I See, an exhibition at a Chicago’s gallery. The show lasted a period of time.

Happ ever brought Vale to Chicago in September of 2018 and showed him around Wrigley Field. Vale knew little about the sport of baseball. But he understood the connection fans had with Wrigley Field. Happ had to explain to Vale the importance of the 400-foot sign in the center field and the famous manual scoreboard. He had to teach him the correct positioning of the players. He also explained what it felt like standing in the field under the bright lights with a loud crowd.

Vale took pictures and used them to help him create drawings in great detail. He was very modest and would send rough drawings to Happ, who would mark them up in red ink, like a teacher, with suggestions. It was in this way that their cooperation was so successful.

10 . When Nigeria’s first-ever female taekwondo (跆拳道) Olympian Princess Dudu was fighting on the Olympic mat sat Athens 2004, five-year-old Elizabeth Anyanacho was enjoying one of her favourite movies at her home in Abuja.

She knows that the Olympics are not a joke, and she dreams of being a role model to other women. At 16, Anyanacho wanted to try out a sport. She began training with the track and field team at a local stadium in Nigeria’s capital Abuja.

During one of her training courses, she was spotted by Chika Chukwumerije who was at the stadium to identify up-and-coming talent to train for taekwondo. “In 2015, I went to the stadium to find tall boys and girls. Her body structure fits the body of a taekwondo athlete. She had never done sport in her life,” said Chukwumerije, now the technical director at Nigerian Taekwondo. Chukwumerije, a three-time Olympian figured Anyanacho’s long legs would give her an edge over opponents (对手) when she is kicking from a distance.

“I was happy to give it a try,” said Anyanacho. “I was excited when I discovered taekwondo.” Anyanacho spent more time training and improving her skills. She was outstanding on the mat. In her first competition in 2017 held in neighbouring Ghana, she won gold. The national under-67kg champion has competed in 13 tournaments (联赛), winning eight of them and finishing twice in second and three times in third place. All these events formed part of the road that led her to Tokyo.

“Taekwondo has given me confidence, exposed me to different cultures and I have made friends from all over the world. I would not have had all these opportunities if it weren’t for taekwondo,” said Anyanacho. In addition to her Olympic goals, she hopes her rise can inspire more women.
