As students, you must take your studies seriously and accept responsibility for your own learning. This means meeting deadlines for your schoolwork, following your teachers’ guidance, and of course, always aiming for academic     1     However, your responsibilities go far beyond your studies. As you go through your daily life, you will     2     many difficult situations where things may go wrong. Instead of being quick to     3     others, analyse the problem, and if it is indeed your own fault, be ready to admit your mistake and then correct it. This way, you practise the virtue of courage. Always give your best in whatever you     4     out to do, however difficult that might be. This way, you practise the virtue of determination. Be honest by saying what you mean and by meaning what you say. This way, you practise the virtue of     5    . Taking responsibility in all aspects of your everyday life, therefore, will help build a strong character.

Our comfort foods are highly     1    . They vary from person to person, depending on our own unique experiences that have     2     our lives. If we grow up eating certain foods in our family, then those foods tend to be linked with positive     3    . It is vital to remain lifelong learners in a rapidly changing world. As you progress through life, you may study and work in new environments.     1     , you will be exposed to many new ideas, beliefs, practices and learning experiences. New knowledge is constantly being generated and what you already know is being revised all the time, to the     3     that it can be difficult to keep pace with the latest developments. Whenever 1 feel lonely, I have a secret recipe that never fails: rice, milk and sugar, cooked low and slow. No matter how bad my mood is, that perfect combination is always enough to lift my spirits. Sometimes the smell alone can do the trick, not to mentionthe lovely     1     flavor, which works like a time machine immediately    2     me back to my sunny childhood. With pleasure, I remember the lazy Sunday afternoons I used to spend in the warmth of my grandma's flat, listening to her wonderfu tories and     3     eating bowl after bowl of her delicious rice pudding.I take my time over every     4     gently rolling the silky dessert around my mouth and enjoying the perfect     5     of rice and milk. Before I know it, I'm happy again.
