3 . Undoubtedly, we have all come across several stunning (极吸引人的) women wherever we come from. As such, it is incredibly difficult to decide who is the fairest of them all. Even tougher is putting them all on one list. However, there are certain women that we can all agree on. They include:
Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie is perhaps the best person to headline our list of stunning women. She is beautiful and talented, which is why she is easily one of the most sought after actresses in Hollywood. Even in her forties, women still want to be Angelina Jolie and men want to be with Angelina.
Gal Gadot
Gal Gadot is another stunning beauty that has managed to make a name for herself in film as an actress and producer. She’s not just a beauty in the acting scene but the former Miss Israel 2014 is also a model to date. Gal Gadot gave two years of her life to serve at the Israeli Defense Forces.
Ashley Graham
Ashley Graham is a stunner that has managed to change lives just by proving that beauty is not limited to those with slim bodies. The model who is perhaps known mostly for her appearance on America’s Next Top Model has managed to make a name for herself despite her plus size figure. Her face is so beautiful and amazingly confident, which is why she also makes such an amazing television presenter.
Audrey Hepburn
It’s impossible to discuss beauty and fashion in Hollywood without talking about Audrey Hepburn. She was a British actress who had a lot of success. She was, however, more known as a fashion icon and is still known for that even to date despite the fact that she is no longer around. The American Film Institute ranked Audrey as the 3rd greatest female legend on screen from Hollywood’s Golden Age.

As we all know, sports play an important role in children lives. Children who competes in a sport will learn how to deal with stress. This is because even though they work hardly to master the skills needed for a sport, but it does not mean they will always win. Sports also help children see that foolish cheating is. In sports, it is no use pretending to fall down or being hurt, because in the end, the audience will see through it. Taking active part in sports event is fun but not always easy. Therefore, it helped children learn how to deal with failure, something that someone must learn to face in life.
5 . A new study suggests some of America’s favorite Independence Day fireworks can give out lead and copper (铜), which are used to give fireworks their vivid colors, and also damage human cells and animal lungs.
Led by researchers at NYU, the study showed poisonous levels of lead in the fireworks. Experiments showed that lung exposure to particle emissions (颗粒排放物) from five types of fireworks significantly increased oxidation (氧化), a chemical process in the body that can damage or even kill cells.
The researchers say the new study is believed to be the first to examine the effects of firework exposure in human cells and living animals, and to test for particles of common firework metals thrown into the atmosphere.
“While many are careful to protect themselves from injury from explosions, our results suggest that inhaling firework smoke may cause, longer-term physical damage, a risk that has been largely ignored,” says study senior author Terry Gordon, a professor in the Department of Environmental Medicine.
Gordon and his team also analyzed 14 air quality samples taken at dozens of sites across the US throughout each year. They found that levels of poisonous metals were higher in samples taken on Independence Day and New Year’s Eve celebrations than at any other time of the year. Along with lead, copper and other poisonous metals are commonly found in fireworks. “Our research shows that although we are only exposed to these poisonous substances for a short time each year, they are much more poisonous than the pollutants we breathe every day,” says Gordon.
Gordon cautions (警告) that the current investigation is the first step, only addressing the potential effects of one-time exposure to the firework metals. He says repeated exposure is likely a larger concern. Nevertheless, he is planning to share his findings with local health officials, firework producers, the Environmental Protection Agent, and other regulatory agents to alert them to the potential for harm.

6 . The first thing that Valoy saw when she put on color-blind corrective glasses was the green grass and later, the red flowers. Valoy says it's unbelievable and she has struggled with certain topics, especially the painting class in school and she would even paint the ocean purple before that.
Valoy wasn't diagnosed with red-green color blindness until the fourth grade. “For the past 17 years, I've lived in a ‘black and white movie’,” the recent Louis E. Dieruff High School graduate says. But not anymore. The transformative moment all started with a public speaking class Valoy took. After she made an informative speech about growing up with her color deficiency(缺陷), her teacher, Sandy Kile, was inspired to teach the class a more important life lesson.
Kile made a suggestion that the class should reach out to companies that produced corrective glasses to see if they would donate a pair to Valoy. While Kile encouraged Valoy to write a description of living in a world with mostly shades of grey and brown, her classmates wrote statements about why she needed the glasses. “I didn't expect much for that,” Valoy says. “Professor Kile truly believed it was going to happen but we were not sure.”
It wasn't so surprising when the first company turned down their request. Then, the class received reply from the founder of Pilestone Inc., offering Valoy and six other community members his glasses for free.
Valoy is thankful to Kile and her classmates. But Kile says that she is very glad the students have the chance to realize the significance of lending a hand to those in need, and that being able to aid Valoy in changing her life is something she will never forget the rest of her life.

9 . I was never very neat, while my roommate Kate was extremely organized. Each of her items had its place, but mine always hid somewhere. She even labeled(做标记)everything. I always looked for everything. Over time, Kate got neater and I got untidier. She would push my dirty clothing over, and I would lay my books on her tidy desk. We both got tired of each other. War broke out one evening. Kate came into the room. Soon, I heard her shouting, “Take your shoes away! Why under my bed!” Deafened, I saw my shoes flying at me. I jumped to my feet and started yelling. She yelled back louder.
The room was filled with anger. We could not have stayed together for a single minute but for a phone call. Kate answered it. From her end of the conversation, I could tell right away her grandma was seriously ill. When she hung up, she quickly crawled(爬)under her covers, crying. Clearly, that was something she should not go through alone. All of a sudden, a warm feeling of pity rose up in my heart.
Slowly, I collected the pencils, took back the books, made my bed, cleaned the socks and swept the floor, even on her side. I got so into my work that I even didn’t notice Kate had sat up. She was watching, her tears dried and her expression one of disbelief. Then, she reached out her hands to grasp mine. I looked up into her eyes. She smiled at me, “Thanks.”
Kate and I stayed roommates for the rest of the year. We didn’t always agree, but we learned the key to living together: giving in, cleaning up and holding on.
