Being responsible is actual not that difficult. I used to think it was hard to growing up into a responsible member of society. An incident happening in a rainy Sunday afternoon changed my attitude. I was on my way to the bookstore and was waiting for the green light while a girl was knocked down by passing car, which drove off quickly. A man immediately gave her first aid and I had joined in without hesitation. Soon many help was given to the girl. Because we sent her to the nearest hospitals in time, she was able to receive proper treatment. Not badly injured, he expressed gratitude to those giving help. Comparing with the escaped driver, I was proud of what I did.
Last summer I had chance to visit Paris. That attracted me most was the Eiffel Tower, which has became a symbol of France. I was deep impressed by its height. I had never seen such a tall building before! It is made of iron and it is about 10,000 tons in weight. There are 1,665 steps from the bottom to the top. Climb the tower made me very tired, and I was very excited. I took a lot of photo in Paris.
I have much memories and experiences to share with. I am so lucky to have seen such a culture so different from my own. I would remember my trip to France forever!
One afternoon in February,my classmates and I were on the way to the cinema. Sudden an old woman fell down heavily due to the ground covering with thick ice. Seeing what have happened,we called 120 without a second thought. On such cold weather,we stayed with her until the ambulance came to scene. And then they left for the cinema. Although we were later for the interesting film, but we all thought it was worthwhile. After all, helping people in need is a good way to obtain joy and happy. Now we all remember the day when when we spent together.
A Chinese and a German made up their mind cross the sea in a balloon in 1754. The balloon in what they discovered a hole was high over the water. A hole became bigger and bigger. The hot air keeping the balloon up was escaping quick and the balloon was coming down. The two men threw all their equipments in order to make the balloon lighter. It started to rise higher again,so it was still too close to the water. At last, the men throw away most of their clothes to save himself. The crowd waiting for to welcome them was very surprising to see this when the balloon landed in front of them.
The other day, I together with several friends went back to a nearby hospital to do some voluntary works. We helped some patients cleaned their rooms and did everything we could to serve them. I noticed a little girl between the patients. She was weak, so she was lovely and active. She asked to sing a song for us in return for our kindness. Stood in front of us, she began to sing. Greatly to our surprise, her voice was so beautifully that it fascinated us all. After that, we had the talk with her. She told us that her wish was to become a singer. We encourage her to follow her dream.
Several days ago when I went shopping in New York I saw an old woman crossed the street with a heavy bag in her hand. At that moment, the American boy was standing nearby. I thought the boy will help the old lady, and to my surprise,he did nothing. This seemed very strangely to me.
Later my roommate explained the boy's behaviors to me. Americans place emphasis to independence. If the boy had offered to help her,the old woman would have felt that she had considered old and weak. What the boy did it allowed her to keep her independence, that was more important to her than the discomfort of carrying a heavy load.
My name is Ann. I've been in China in a few years. With the help of Li Hua, a good friend of mine,I've been used to live in China. Li Hua, like other girls, are beautiful and lovely. We became friends after we meet each other a few years ago. Although her English isn't easy to understand, but we enjoy chatting and we usually talk a lot about my favorite books. We're both surprising that Chinese culture and American culture are such different. Now we are planning nice party. There, I will introduce Li Hua to my friends, whom also have great interest in Chinese culture.
Nowadays, with the growing popular of computers, more and more people are paying less and less attention to their handwriting. According to recent survey, about 85.8 percent of middle school students think of that their handwriting is poor. And for various reasons, many students don’t want to improve his handwriting. 51.5 percent of the students thought that they can just use a computer, so there is no need to waste time improve their handwriting. Which the saying goes, “Writing style shows the man.” Beautiful and neat handwriting is beneficial, especial for middle school students. However, in my opinion, more emphasis should be placed on this aspect in future.
As new students at an university in Boston, many of us were unfamiliar with the campus but consequently late for class. One professor, however, was particular intolerant of being late, making clear that no excuse would be acceptable. So when a girl student came to his class one morning later,we expected the worst results. Then the professor demands the reason for her coming late.“I was being waiting online to buy your new book,”she replied very nervously. While looked at the rest of the class, the professor asked,“Well, why was not the rest of you late?”
The biggest challenge I have overcome is stepping out of my comfort zone. In the year of 2017 when I was 15, I joined an exchange student program. I sent to Germany alone and lived with the host family.
At first it was a huge failure for me. Thanks for my host mom, I adapted myself to the new surroundings gradually. She told me some tip on making friends, such as joining a sports club and invited my classmates to watch a movie. Surprising, all of the tips she gave me work! She also suggested that I can introduce my culture to my classmates. To my astonish, they were all interesting in Chinese culture.
Eventually, my discomfort zone became a part of my comfort zone.
