I’m an only daughter of my parents. So they are worried about everything I do. For example, when I ride my bike, my parents won’t let me ride by myself. They are afraid I might fall off my bike and hurt me. They are taking great trouble to support the bike, with my mother even carry a first-aid box. I’m free to ride and I often say angry, “Why not to let me ride alone?” Now, most families have one child. Parents want to do everything for their children. This does no good for them. On a rainy night, my younger brother and I were cycling to return to our camp site. Suddenly, my brother’s bike fell down in the rain and he was throwing into the middle of the road. I stopped, asking what he was okay. This was obvious that he was not hurt too much, but his leg got stuck in the bike frame and couldn’t moving. Just then I saw the car coming. Our class joined in a meaningful activity during the winter vacation. First, we went to visit the old lady who lived all alone. Some chatted with her but others helped do a thorough cleaning for us. Last month, I was told we would have our first military training. At first, I thought it will be hard to spend a whole week stayed away from school and home. The sunshine would be very strongly during these days, or we could easily get sunburnt. Later, when I was in the camp, I found it was a lot fun. A training was hard for you all. But my classmates and I were treated very kindly by all the soldier. The food in the camp looked simple, but tasted good. Now you never know how happy days we had in the camp. I think the experience has been made us stronger!

This morning at about nine o'clock, I was on my way the supermarket. Suddenly I see heavy smoke rising about several hundreds meters away. “There must be a fire!” I thought. Getting the nearer, I saw a shop was on fire. There was many people standing by the roadside watched. Six firefighters were struggling to put out the fire. I heard someone say they had fought for about an hour and two firefighters had rushed into the shop to rescue a woman. After a while, they rushed out supporting the woman. But one firefighter got injured serious. All the people and I whom saw what happened were deeply moved by their bravery. About twenty minutes late the fire was finally put out.

How time flies! It won’t be long after I say goodbye to my high school life. Look back on what has happened, I really want to share one of the most unforgettable experience with you. It was my first time to give English speech. I felt worried, so I turned to Mrs. Li, my English teacher, with help. She had encouraged me to work hardly and practise more. Confidently, I practised them countless hours. My performance was very successful that it impressed my classmates a lot.
