It’s one of the longest train journeys in the world -2,910 miles across China. And when photographer Matthieu Paley was looking for ways     1    (get)his wife and two sons from Hong Kong to the northwest China it looked like the perfect choice.

Traditional Chinese festivals are important part of Chinese culture, and it’s our     1     (responsible) to protect and maintain them. This article focuses on a festival that many people are not familiar with — Hanshi Festival.

With a history of more than 2,600 years, Hanshi Festival is the only traditional one in China named     2     food, and it is also known as the Cold Food Festival as people are only allowed to eat cold food on this day. Young people spending hours     1     (stare) at screens means half the world may need glasses within 30 years. Phone devices and computer screens are to blame     2     the rising risk of short-sightedness among children and young adults, say scientists. Ballet is a formal kind of dance performance with a rich and interesting history. The word “ballet” comes from the French language. Ballet’s early roots began in Italy in the late 1400s. But it was in France     1     ballet developed into the form we know today.

The French ruler Louis the Fourteenth had a big influence     2     the direction of ballet in its early history. He ruled France for seventy-two years,     3     (start) in 1643. He started dancing as a boy and worked hard daily.

Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at Stanford Hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liza who was suffering from a rare and serious disease.
