Happy Hour Thursday

Happy Hour Thursday is the place to be! Meet your friends at the MFAH for the best night of the week. Explore the campus, visit the galleries(画廊), and get a drink at the public house (cash only).

General admission is free on Thursday, and the Museum is open late.

Art Bites I American Painting and Sculpture

A little art can go a long way! Visit the galleries and enjoy the art. The focus of this Art Bite tour is on American painting and sculpture. Art Bite tours are 30 minutes long and are part of the Happy Hour Thursday festivities at the Museum.   This guided tour is included with general admission, which is free on Thursdays.

Glassell Studio School

Courses in art are offered the fall, spring, and summer

The Glassell Studio School offers courses in art history and studio arts for adults ages 18 and older of all skill and experience levels. Studio courses and workshops are available(可得到的) in various forms of media, including painting, drawing, printmaking, digital and film photography, 3D design, and more. 3 . Several musts for the new term

With a new university term looking for either returning or new students, here are some musts to consider for the school year ahead.

Storage bag with handles (柄)

Whether you’re a freshman or returning for a new year, you have to move to your university. This is where moving boxes come in, but if you’d rather not be troubled by luggage, these storage bags are a nice choice. They have strong handles and keep water out.

Led alarm clock

Make sure you wake up on time for all of your lectures with this LED alarm clock. It’s also multi-functional, doubling up as a mirror that you can use through the day. It has one USB port (端口), as well as a wall hook and a stand for keeping it upright.

We’ve all been there, not having quite enough room for your clothes and wondering how you can magically fit more clothes into the same space. In University the problem is worse, but this simple hanger set can conveniently hold jeans, trousers, skirts and more, helping to ease this common problem.

Humidifiers don’t often get talked about too much in terms of things that would be good to have in a bedroom, but there are benefits to having them. They make the room air properly wet to aid with dry skin, nose and throat issues and improve sleep.

Recent studies show that young people often tell their names, ages and where they live on the Internet. That may not be safe for them. 6 . Creating a Graphic Novel

In the past decade we’ve seen the rise of graphic novels that come in all sorts of forms. Now join author and illustrator Lizzy Stewart for our upcoming masterclass, where she’ll take you through how to create both the illustration and text for a graphic novel. You’ll have the chance to find the right form for the story you are trying to tell, and Lizzy will share her insight into the editorial and publishing process of getting a graphic novel printed. 15 minutes will be reserved for a Q&A session at the end of the masterclass, when Lizzy will answer what you’re curious to know.

8 . There are a variety of free magazines that kids can receive in the mail. Kids love getting mail, so these magazines will bring double joy!

If your child loves animals, a free copy may provide him or her with hours of educational entertainment. This magazine is especially wonderful if you have a dog or a cat at home and want your child to learn about pet care.

This is an excellent online resource (资源) where elementary school children can learn about different aspects of science and social studies topics. It gives you access (使用权) to 30 units with 200 topics.

The content there is various. You can gain even more access by creating a free account. There are educational articles on dozens of countries around the world, as well as articles on animals, planets, and more. Aimed at children aged 8 to 14, this magazine is a great choice for learning and fun.

If you have children that are sports fans, look no further than the Sports Illustrated Kids. They can get analysis of recent games, forecasts about next season, and fun games. It’s all free, and your son or daughter will love getting to know the latest sports news.
