We are a non-profit organization based in Trujillo, Peru. We provide free English classes for the surrounding area by giving tutoring classes in our building and teaching in a public school. We believe that providing these free English classes can help the community get themselves out of poverty. By learning English, people here will be able to have more job opportunities.

As a volunteer, you will teach English both in Horizon and at a local public school. There’s also an opportunity to explore Trujillo and the local beach town. Your poetry can be laid out as you wish, as we understand that form often relates to the effect of a poem. However, please be sure to stick to a maximum of 3 pages per poem.

We accept works, written in English, from anywhere in the world. But we don’t accept works previously published elsewhere.

Writers over the age of thirteen are welcome to participate. Please note that if you’re aged 13-16 and your work is selected for publication, we’ll require a signature from a parent or a guardian.

Please include your name and contact information in your cover letter only and remove any identifying information from both the submitted work and the file name.

We edit every piece accepted for publication whether your work is selected for publication through our online blog or in our print magazine. For this cooperative process we’ll pair you with one of our senior editors. All our editors have been trained to help guide the development of each piece to reach its fullest potential in keeping with the author’s vision. This doesn’t mean we’ll take on a wild jumble of words and half-formed thoughts.

The contest reserves the right to NOT award a winner if the submissions don’t reach a publishable standard. In this case, the winner won’t be announced. Although this has rarely come to pass in our six-year publishing history, our top priority must remain with the quality of the work we publish.

4 . The best children’s museums in the U.S. feature some exhibits that kids want to see.

Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

This museum measures 472,900 square feet and sits on 29 acres of land. Exhibits are all about hands-on learning. For example, dinosaur lovers will go crazy. Now you’re in their world, where kids don’t just look at real dinosaur skeletons (骨架); they can dig for bones in the sand.

Boston Children’s Museum

This century-old Boston hotspot gives kids experiences that will help them learn life skills. The museum became the city’s first “green” museum in 2007, because of its eco-friendly 23,000-square-foot addition and unique waterfront park. Whether your kids are into art, music, building, science, pretend play or all of the above, there’s plenty for them to do or see in the museum.

The Strong National Museum of Play

This museum has too many awesome exhibits to list here, but one of the most popular is the year-round indoor butterfly garden. Reading Adventureland is also a hit for pretend play and helps form a love of books. If you’re a history lover, hit the National Toy Hall of Fame.

Children’s Museum of Houston

Bring your kids to this great children’s museum, and you’ll feel as if you’re stepping into another world! Kidtropolis is a huge pretend city where kids run the show. It’s complete with its own city hall, bank, news center, vet’s office and other common workplaces. Here young inventors can also create their own gadgets (小装置) in the Invention Convention.

5 . It goes without saying that sitting at a desk for a majority of the day will hurt our health. But don’t worry because there is a solution! After spending much time investigating the different offers when it comes to exercise equipment suitable for the office, I’d like to reveal some of my top recommendations.

6 . Volunteering

Volunteers are the heart of Scottish Mountain Rescue, which was founded in 1965. Our 25 Member Teams are made up entirely of volunteers (around 850 of them in total). Mountain Rescue volunteers are people drawn from all walks of life. They together provide tens of thousands of hours of service to the country saving many lives each year. They are ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

What it takes to join a Mountain Rescue Team:

·Experienced hill walker or mountaineer

·Have a full mountain kit with suitable mountaineering clothing and personal equipment

·Under 75 years old

·Knowledge of basic first aid, a first aid certificate would be preferable

·Have a reasonable level of fitness

·Live in or close to the geographical area that the team you wish to join covers

·Have made a commitment to remain in the area of the team that you wish to join for a reasonable period

Sequoia National Park also has some of the darkest skies in the country, making it one of the best places to observe the night sky.

10 . Harry Potter fans, get ready for the journey to Hogwarts and beyond on an official guided tour of Warner Bros. This guided experience at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London — The Making of Harry Potter is the only tour of its kind, so if you’re a fan of the magical world, it’s a must-do.

What To Expect

Upon arriving, you will be greeted by an experienced guide who reveals the wonders you’ll encounter throughout your tour of the original sets and costumes from all eight of the Harry Potter films. You will be given your own personal headset to ensure you do not miss any of the fascinating behind-the-scenes facts.

Watch a short film in the cinema before you enter the Great Hall, Visit the original Hogwarts Express locomotive (火车头) and a recreation of Platform 9¾. Climb aboard the train carriage and pose with a luggage trolley as it disappears through the platform wall.
