Gatlinburg Trail

The Gatlinburg Trail is easy to get to and perfect for a first time hiking experience. Pets and bikes are allowed on this one too. The trail is relatively flat and follows along the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River for about 2 miles, so the roundtrip length is just 3.9 miles. Hike at your own pace and enjoy!

Porters Creek Trail

The Porters Creek trailhead is located in Greenbrier Cove. The trail makes a great hike any time of the year due to its lower elevation (海拔). As you make your way along the hiking trail from the parking lot to Porters Flat, you’ll see remains of the Elbert Cantrell farmhouse, Ownby Cemetery, the John Messer farm site and more. And if you happen to visit during the spring season, be on the lookout for all the beautiful spring wildflowers beginning to bloom. The roundtrip length is 4 miles.

Laurel Falls

The Laurel Falls trail is 2.3 miles round trip and considered to be one of the best waterfall hikes in the Great Smoky Mountains! Laurel Falls Trail is paved but rocky and uneven, and there are a few steep drop-offs as you get closer to the falls, so wear appropriate shoes and keep small children close.

Andrew’s Bald Hiking Trail

Andrew’s Bald Hiking Trail is 1. 8 miles each way and relatively easy to negotiate. You may find patches of wild berries and beautiful wildflowers but best of all, some amazing views of the Great Smoky Mountains. It’s also a great spot to stop and enjoy a picnic with the family.

It's a guided tour of Guild Hall's exhibitions for up to 30 people. This fully-led tour invites visitors to look closely and discuss works on view. Tours last about an hour, and are led by the Lewis B. Cullman Associate Curator for Learning & Public Engagement and Education Staff.

The Museum Director and Curators offer an in-depth tour for up to 30 people. This fully-led tour offers a scholarly insight into the work and practice of each exhibiting artist, as well as a history of the Guild Hall Museum.

School Student Group Tour

Arranged specifically for teachers and students, this museum tour and the neighboring workshop offer a space to freely observe the work on view, discuss student observations and the history & crafts of the specific artists, and immediately apply that learning in an artist-led workshop. Visits last from an hour to ninety-minutes, and are led by Education Staff and a guest Teaching Artist.

Self-guided Tour

The Family ARTivity Guide encourages families of all agas to collectively explore the Guild Hall galleries. Daaku

The Blue Peter Inn

If you' re looking for an authentic Cornish pub experience, look no further than this one. Housed in a whitewashed building surrounded by the historic fishermen's collages of picture-perfect Polperro, it overlooks the harbor. The menu focuses on local seafood and meal with top choices including fish and chips, and beef burgers. It opens every Saturday night with live music.

Mangia

If you' re headed to Falmouth to explore top attractions, make sure to look a table at Mangia. This independent, family-run pub may be small in size, but it serves classic Italian favorites. Chef and owner Valter Floris comes from an extensive background in Italian baking. Advance booking is almost always required. It opens in the evenings from 6 pm — last orders at 9 pm. Tuesday to Saturday.

10 . ADOPTION CRITERIA:

• Adopters are required to pay a $750 adoption fee at the time of adoption.

• Interested adopters and their families must be willing to travel, at their own expense, to our San Rafael. California campus within a week of being notified by our Dog Placement office that a potentially suitable dog is available. In particular, children under the age of 10 need to accompany their parents, to ensure the dog will be a good family match.

• It is strongly recommended that any dog already in the household also come to the campus to meet the new dog on neutral ground and to improve the likelihood of a smooth transition.

• Adopters must be willing to do the following:

☆ Purchase an extra large size container for use in the transition to the new home.

☆ Attend dog training classes appropriate to the temperament of the new dog. Career change dogs often need further training or behavior modification.

☆ Have either a fully fenced area or kennel run at least five feet in height. A fence check will be performed prior to any dog going home. A fence check will not be performed until and unless a suitable dog is available.

ADOPTION RPOCESS

If you meet the adoption criteria, the steps in the application are easy.

1. Complete the online application (link below).

2. If we have questions or need further information from you, we will contact you by phone. The volume of applications we receive does not permit responses to individual inquiries about the status of an application. Applicants not selected for adoption consideration will be notified by letter.

3. We will contact you by phone if and when we have a dog that may be suitable for you. At that time, you’ll receive a detailed description of the dog, including the reason it was career changed form the program, what it was like in the puppy raising home, what its current needs are, etc.

4. We will arrange an appointment for you to come to our campus and meet the dog. It typically takes about two hours to show a dog. If all parties agree that it looks like a good match, the paperwork is done, adoption fee paid and the dog can go home at that time.
