Wellness travel for the mind

If travel broadens the mind, it can also benefit mental health and spiritual well being. Meditation retreats (a practice of thinking) that support self-development, observation, and awareness are popular destinations and often feature exercises like yoga which improve both physical and mental well being.    2    . Some places such as Martial arts centers where mindfulness and mental focus are key parts are good choices. Some of the best UK destinations provide services for refreshing the mind through outdoor relaxation, and rejuvenating therapies.

A strong body means a healthy mind. Travel breaks that combine physical activity with relaxation treatments tick multiple boxes. Many destinations feature health clubs and modern gyms.    4    . For example, some hotels boast a dedicated group cycling studio with music, lighting, and giant screens around a nightclub theme. If swimming, tennis, golf, running, or tai-chi is your thing, a destination that focuses on body and fitness well being is certain to exist, whatever kind of active leisure pursuit you need.

Wellness travel for the family

Wellness travel can deliver the same benefits for the whole family.    5    —from swimming and workouts to relaxing spa treatments and fun clubs, there is plenty to do for both adults and children alike. 4 . Arrangements for the Beijing Tour

Day 1

Any visit to Beijing is incomplete without a hike on the Great Wall. However, it is thousands of miles long and the Beijing section is only a small part of the Great Wall. The first choice is Badaling, but we recommend Juyong Pass, which is less crowded but no less impressive. Depending on your health and preference, you can climb very steep steps or have a walk on the relatively flat areas. There are many locations for great photo opportunities.

Day 2

Start at the Temple of Heaven. where emperors used to hold ceremonies to pray. Stop at the Echo Wall and discover the wonder of voices bouncing (弹跳) back and forth. Pass through the guard-protected Golden Water Bridge, and go to visit the Palace Museum.

Day 3

You can pay a visit to Capital Museum where the exhibits have more surprises. Take a walk along Wangfujing Street, a modern shopping street. The walking is much less intensive and the budgeted time much more flexible. If you are crazy about Peking Opera, National Centre for the Performing Arts is an ideal place to go.

Day 4

The Summer Palace in a northwestern suburb of the city is a beautiful place. A short taxi ride north will take you to Qianmen Street. This retail centre was renovated (翻新) for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Here are some of the oldest businesses of the city, including the famous Peking Duck.

文章大意:本文是一篇新闻报道。文章主要报道了一对最好的朋友Ellie Hamby和Sandy Hazelip,在81岁的年纪进行了环球旅行,证明了冒险没有年龄限制。

9 . A pair of best friends are proving that adventure doesn’t have an age limit — even when you’re 81. Ellie Hamby and Sandy Hazelip are planning to see all seven continents in just over two and a half months.

Their first stop was Antarctica (南极洲). Getting to the southernmost continent first need crossing the Drake Passage, the famously rough waters. “For almost two days, we were rocking and rolling through the Drake Passage. It was just crazy,” Hamby said. “But when we stepped foot on the ground of the Antarctic, we forgot all that difficulties. The beauty of the Antarctic is just unbelievable.”

Over the past three months, the pair have ridden camels in Egypt, and observed the Northern Lights in Finland. For Hamby, the best part of the trip was not the beauty along the way. “We love all the sights that we saw, but the things that we remember the most are the people that we met,” she said. “We met some of the most wonderful, kindest, friendliest people in the world. We just have friends now all over the world.”

When it came to how their families felt about their journey, Hamby said her daughter Louise was not too concerned. “She just says, ‘Well, if Mom falls out of a hot air balloon in Egypt or off the mountain…That’s fine. She is living the life she wanted, and I am happy for her,’” Hamby said.

Hazelip hopes their story can inspire people of all ages. “Don’t sit in that chair and waste away,” Hazelip said. “The world is a book and he who does not travel only reads one page. So get up out of that easy chair, step out of your comfort zone, make some plans and live. Remember that age is only a number.”
