Day 3: Gorilla Trekking- Visit Twin Lakes
Today after breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Volcanoes National Park headquarters to start your gorilla trekking.
You will trek through foothills of the Virunga, enjoying great views from all angles. Upon seeing where the mountain gorillas are, you will stay with them for an hour as they go about their day-to-day life- playing, feeding, touching among others. Coming face to face with these endangered mountain gorillas is an experience you will never forget.
PS: We highly recommend that you hire services of a waiter who carries your backpack during the gorilla trekking. It costs 15 US dollars per waiter.

4 . Deep in the middle of Sri Lanka, a massive column of rock reaches out from the green tropical forest. It is 660 feet tall and features frescoes (壁画), graffiti, and landscaped gardens.
The rock is known as Sigiriya and holds a special place in the island's cultural history.
It was established as the stronghold of a king over 1,500 years ago, and today the Sigiriya complex stands as one of the earliest preserved examples of ancient urban planning.
Located in the Central Province, the column of rock is somewhat central to the country. The rock is known as Sihagiri, meaning "Lion Rock", a nod to the giant animal carved from stone which greeted visitors at the entrance.
In 476 BC. King Dhatusena ruled over Sri Lanka. One of his illegal sons, Kashyapa, wanted the throne (王位). Kashyapa overthrew Dhatusena and drove his brother Moggallana to Southern India. Kashyapa crowned himself king in 477 BC.
King Kashyapa chose Sigiriya as his palace because its position was an advantage to the defensive stronghold, offering fantastic 360-degree views. Plans to build a city quickly unfolded and after several years, the Sigiriya complex had become a business center for the new King.
Sigiriya was both a palace and a fortress (堡垒); the overall complex featured five gates and measured just under 3 km by just over 1 km. The site plan consisted of a fort，an upper palace on the top of the rock,and lower palaces at ground level. The king also constructed gardens throughout，and for protection a river with walls surrounded the complex.
Frescoes decorate the western side of the rock, along with the mirror wall, a brick face covered in a highly-polished white plaster. When new, the wall was said to be able to produce Reflections.
Over time the Mirror Wall became a graffiti board, covered in verses written by visitors. Known as "Sigiri Graffiti", some of the messages date to the 8th century CE.

Blue waters wash such-picture-perfect white sands that it’s hard to believe you’re in Europe: walk the beach at sunset, or weave your way on horseback through the green rice fields before a meal of the freshest of fish on the seashore.
Zambujeira do Mar
Standing between the fierce Atlantic and the plains of the Alentejo,the little fishing village of Zambujeira do Mar has one of the regions most beautiful beaches, backed by high rock cliffs. For five days in August, one of Portugal’s biggest youth music festivals, MEO Sudoeste, is held here. Dates for 2020 are August 4-8.
Lagos
White-washed Lagos manages to maintain its character and charm while offering a lively nightlife for locals and tourists. An important naval centre in the 15th century, Lagos was also capital of the Algarve from 1576-1756. Extensively damaged in the 1755 earthquake,the town now consists of mostly 18th and 19th-century buildings. Visit Santo Antonio Church for its blue and white tiles and gilded (镀金的) woodwork.

The thought of racing down an active volcano with only a board is enough to get most people hot under the collar. But for thrill-seeking sports fanatics, boarding down a 2,380-foot-high volcano at the speed of 80 km/h is the coolest sport around.
Thousands of travelers are heading to the foothills of Nicaragua’s Cerro Negro to take part in the new sporting craze (狂热). Surfers, dressed in protective jump suits, knee-pads and helmets, receive brief instructions and then try sliding down a short slope(斜坡). After that, it’s time for the real thing. Sitting on their specially-constructed boards, surfers push off and fly straight down a 488-meter-long slope. The black volcanic ash provides a dusty, dirty ride. The last major repair work on the U.S. Capitol took place in 1960. Since then, the dome has become weathered and worn. The Architect of the Capitol group reports that the dome has more than 1,000 narrow breaks on its surface and other damage.
The dome was completed around 1863. U. S. Senate Historian Don Ritchie says the dome’s cast(石膏) iron frame is at special risk of weathering. “The capitol dome, being cast iron, has been hit by lightning countless times. And so the current construction is to repair the leaks, to fill the cracks, to take off extra layers of paint.”
Some recent visitors to the Capitol were unhappy about its current appearance. They had hoped to get a picture of the usually shining dome. Joyce said, “It was impressive, and very fantastic, and all white, but when I come here today, it is under construction so my family cannot see it clearly, it is kind of a disappointment.”
Others were more understanding of the repairs. Rick Jones, another visitor, said, “It’s a little inconvenient for us not to see the dome but you have to think about the future and the people will be coming to this place for centuries...and you know ,there just needs to be preventive maintenance(维护). I am not upset with that at all.”
The project is expected to take more than two years to complete. The dome should be ready for a new president in January 2017.
