1 . A poetry competition has been launched for pupils. It invites young people to reflect on the “many ways we are connected to the universe”. The competition is aimed at pupils aged 4-18.
Winners will receive a range of other prizes, including books and chocolate, plus continued development and coaching opportunities from the Poetry Society. The rules are as follows:
1. The competition is free to enter. Entries will be accepted from anywhere in the UK. Entries from outside the UK are not accepted. If you are aged 4-12, your parents will need to give permission for you to enter.
2. Your entry must be the original work of the creator. Your work is accepted on the basis that this will be its first appearance anywhere in the world.
3. Poems must be written in English or Welsh, but you can include phrases in your mother tongue or another language. Poems must not be longer than 20 lines. You are free to write in any style or form.
4. You may enter either online via website or by post to the Poetry Society, 22 Betterton Street, London. All online entries must be received by 23:59 GMT on 19 December 2022. All poems entered by post must be post-dated on or before 19 December 2022.

It is widely known that a good sleep helps us relax and it also makes us energetic again.

Before bedtime, some of us have a habit of using electronic products to surf the Internet, listen to music or watch movies. It’s bad for our health to do these activities before bedtime.

When we sleep with lights on, our brain will think it’s still daytime. It will take us longer time to fall asleep and we will rest less. So it’s wise to sleep with lights off.
●Keep worries away
Some of us have difficulty in falling asleep because of worries. Instead of lying awake, we can write down the things that make us worried and make a list of things to do.

Sunken (沉没的) city
Dubai landmarks haven’t just gone high, they’ve gone deep! The world’s deepest dive (潜水) pool, Deep Dive Dubai, is the latest record-breaking attraction. New York’s newest island
Park life just got a little more interesting in New York. Little Island @Pier55 is a human-built island park next to the Hudson River Park. 5 . It’s not unusual for kids to change friends, change schools, or change the way they dress as they’re growing up. But what about changing into a giant (巨大的) red panda? That’s the life of a 13-year-old girl named Mei Lee, the perfectly imperfect main character of Disney and Pixar’s new film, Turning Red.
Turning Red tells a coming-of-age story like no other. Mel is a Chinese Canadian girl who turns into a giant red panda anytime she experiences strong emotions, and must find a way to manage both her school life and home life in early 2000s Toronto, Canada. Mel tries to deal with hanging out with her three best friends, the boy band they like and her protective mother, who isn’t ready to let go of her growing daughter.
“Turning Red is inspired by the difficulties of growing up and trying to find out how to honor your parents, but also stay true to yourself,” said director Domee Shi. “For Mei Lee in the movie, before becoming the red panda, she thinks she has it all figured out, like we all did before we woke up one day and realized all of a sudden, we’re covered in body hair, our feelings are all over the place, and we’re hungry all the time.
Turning Red describes the complexities (难题) of mother-daughter relationships well. In fact, the real-life experiences of the film’s crew (摄制组成员) inspired several scenes. To make her crew share more about their childhood, Shi created a video at the office with her team. She encouraged everyone to look back to the past and bring out their embarrassing teen pictures and memories. It worked! “The crew started bringing in their old middle school yearbooks,” said producer Lindsey Collins. “They shared stories of their funny moments in middle school. Also, those of us who are parents shared our bad parenting moments. It’s meaningful. As a team, we just really tried to be real with one another about our daily failures and our daily successes.” It seems that however old you are, there is a little bit of Mei in all of us.

People are always asking me what I want to be when I grew up. My answers are difference from time to time — scientist, professor, political leader — so the theme remains the same. I want to be someone which makes a difference in the world. To be honest, I want change the way people think. Whatever I do it in life, I know there will have some people who disagree with my values.
