In recent years, Lake Baikal, the deepest freshwater lake, has paid much attention to because of a extreme sport. Each March, about 150 people signed up for the Baikal Lake Marathon. They come to explore the lake's extraordinarily beauty and challenge themselves in unpredictable conditions. And on March, the ice is a meter thick and very hard. Runners cross the frozen surface, finishing on the western sides of the lake. Knowing as the “blue eye of Siberia," the lake has clear water.
