Today our class paid a visit a farm. Early in the morning, we met at the school gate and went there together by bus. The farm workers give us a warm welcome at the farm entrance, what moved us deeply. Then we were showing around the wonderful agricultural garden.
How happily we were to see the crops and vegetables growing well. At noon we sat and had a picnic lunch in the sunshine, shared snacks, fruit and drinks. After a ten-minute break, we had a great fun telling jokes and story, as well as singing and dancing. Two of them even played a game of chess.
Time went by quickly. Before we knew it, it was already dark because we had to leave.

Last Sunday, we paid visit to the Sunset Nursing Home, that is very close to our school. On our arrival, we begin to help the old people do the cleaning. I’m written to tell you about the discussion we’ve had about that entrance fees should be charged for parks. There are two different opinions about a question.
60% of the students is against the idea of entrance fees. They believe a public park should be freely. People need a place to rest and enjoy them. Charging entrance fees will keep some people away. And it will become necessary build gates and walls, which will be harmful to the appearance of a city.
However, 40% of the students think that fees should be charged because of money is needed to pay gardeners and other worker and to buy plants and young trees. They suggest, therefore, fees shouldn’t be charged too high.

For the big festival like Chinese New Year, families will get together and having a big meal. The food such as like chicken and pork is necessary. Last Friday I took the subway home as usually. Since our physics teacher had just teach us in class that the escalator(自动扶梯)worked, I decided to see how fast the escalator went. To my surprise, it went a speed of about 40 m/min. The next day, I went to a department store with her cousin Emily. I timed the escalator here too. I found that it was much slower, going about 30 meter every minute. Why? I check on the Internet and found the reason. Stores slow down escalators on a purpose, allowing customers more time to looking at their products.
