My grandmother and mother are both well-known piano players. When I was 3 years old, I developed to an interest in musical instruments, especial in piano. The home environment has always inspired me to keeping practicing. Since I could remember, I’ve been playing piano even for about eight hours a day. I am a shy and quiet girl, because the instrument is a unique means for me to express me feelings. I have participated in various musical event at home and abroad. Combine erhu with contemporary music, I hope to make more people know this tradition instrument. It is encouraging that what I have done contribute to their better understanding of Chinese culture.

Spring has come with all its beauty! Trees have turned green or flowers can be seeing everywhere. Last Friday, my friends and me went on a spring outing. It was such a great fun! We cycled along the streams and down the paths. It didn’t take us long to get the foot of the mountain, that we left our bikes. Then we begin hiking. Aiming to provide an opportunity with students to enrich their knowledge about Western culture, yesterday the English club organizes a visit to the art exhibition of David Hockney in the City Art Gallery. He is one of the most influential British artists. I was fortunately to participate. Together with other club members, I admired some masterpieces by David and watched a video about her. My favorite part was watching the digital versions of the paintings, which enabled me observe those great work from different angles and have a new insight into them. Although that this exhibition displayed was limited, but I think the visit meaningful and beneficial. After all, learn English is not only about the language itself, but also a culture it comes from.
The summer holiday is coming, that makes me excited. I have been looking forward to relax myself. I’d like to go swimming, climb mountains and saw several movies. I can play the basketball with my classmates. How a wonderful time I’ll have during the summer holiday! However, my parents think different. They don’t want me go out. They are afraid I’ll be knocked down by a truck, fall off a tree, or fight about others. Besides, they are worried that I may lose my ways. I really hate being treated like a bird kept in a cage. To get more freedom, I will try to persuade him.
