I can’t remember how many photo I have taken. But one photo that I have kept for many years makes the deepest impression for me. In the photo, an eight-year-old girl dressing in a beautiful red skirt, is holding a book, smiling happy with her mom. It taken at my uncle’s place, where I loved to read both the books or magazines he had. Whenever that I look at this photo, it bring back the warm moment between a girl and her mom. It also reminds myself that even at a young age, I was already an enthusiastic reader. I will continue reading, just as a little girl in the photo does.

Knowing from your letter that your class team lose the basketball game last week and you have been feeling rather depressing, I am writing to cheer you up.

Everybody loses sometimes, and that doesn’t mean they will never win. I know your feeling now, but hopeful, you can take it easy. In your life you can’t avoid failure, but it is your attitude towards failure really counts. Cherish failure, as it makes me stronger and wiser.

I advise you communicate with your teammates and reflect on this game, finding your problems, making adjustments and train harder. With determination and hard works, you will win in time.

Li Hua

The person I’m extremely thankful is my father. Every morning, when he gets up early to prepare a healthy breakfast for my family. Whatever busy he is, he will drive me to and from school, whether it was rainy or sunny. Whenever I am blue or feel anxious about my grades, he will take me to a park, or invite me to see the movie to help me get relaxing. Besides, the positive view he hold of life has an everlasting influence on myself. I’m a happy and confidence student because of his care or consideration.

During the Men’s 800-metre Race of our school’s sports meeting, Li Hua from Senior 2 soon got well ahead the others and finally ranking first. The crowd were shouting to him when Li Hua fell to the ground and got injury. Many people come to her assistance. The teacher gave him first aid, while some kindly students passed water and a towel to him. In no time, Li Hua recovered. When interviewed, Li Hua expressed his thanks to everyone, saying,“ Injured as I am, but I can feel the warm from my schoolmates.” He was delighted to make contribution to his class.

Our class went mountain-climbing last week. Leading by our teacher, thirty of us started out trip. It was a nice day and the air was fresh, what made the trip more pleasant. We were chatting and laughing as we left our destination. I fall behind twice on the way, but with the encouragement of my classmates, I finally caught up with us and reached the top. Although we felt tiring, we thought it was meaningful. The experience brought us close to the nature and made us free from heavy schoolworks for a while. Additional, it increased the friendship among us. Seen our positive changes, our head teacher was also satisfied.

There are a lot of unforgettable thing in our life. The most unforgettable one for me is the speech competition holding last year. When my English teacher told me that I had chosen to take part in the speech competition, I devoted me to the preparation. I was determined to win the first prize. I was such nervous when I stood on the stage that I forgot everything. Not until I caught a sight of my teacher did I calm down. Finally, I do a good job. When I heard I got the first prize, my heart was filled in joy and tears rolled down. Through this speech competition, I understand that it is confidence which makes people successfully.

My neighbor Granny Zhang and my mother are good friend. They often walk, dance and shop together. Last week Granny Zhang gave us several pies making by herself. And she brought big apples, which given by her relatives. We were very grateful for her generosity. How could we thanked her? Then an opportunity came. Yesterday was the Children’s Day. I made lots of dumplings with my mother, and then I sent any to Granny Zhang’s house. She was very happily to see me. She happily accepted the food but gave me a box of chocolate for return. Later she told me that she celebrated the day by cook the dumplings for her grandchildren.

The other day, at a local store where is near my house, an old man with a guide dog come in. He went to the shelf where there were different kind of greeting cards. He picked up a card, held it up extreme close to his eyes, and struggled read it. Just as I was about to walk over to help him, I found the little girl, about ten years old, asking him that he needed help. He nodded but then she started to read him every greeting card until he had smiled. The old man said, “That’s what I want! His wife will love this one!”

Tea has a long history in China, dated back to 5, 000 years ago. Obvious, it plays a important part in Chinese culture. A good many of distinguished poets and writers had written many masterpieces about the appreciate of tea and the love for it, among them was Lu Yu in the Tang dynasty. He wrote The Classic of Tea, the first book on tea, but he was regarded as the “Tea Saint (圣人)”．

Chinese people take delight in tea-drinking. It served almost everywhere. Whenever guest visit, offering a cup of tea to them is a basic social custom. Tea is part of Chinese people’s daily life.
