Carolyn opened her bag and reached for her ________ call device. Her heart sank as she realized she had left it at home. Without the device, nothing in the prison would work ________ now.

Then the door ________. And there was...Todd! He pushed the emergency call device directly into her hands. Tears welling up in her eyes, Carolyn exclaimed, “Thank goodness. I’ll have to ________ the computer and upgrade the system as soon as possible.”

2 . The moment I climbed on my bike after school, the only thing that occupied my mind was going back home and jumping on my comfortable bed.

Now, I would like to tell you that this __________ some of the low-grade racial issues we faced. And she, if I think about it now, is a very early pioneer of diversity, in a very smart way, using Middle Eastern hospitality.

9 . I have been helping my wife through some difficult medical procedures. After my wife's 6-hour surgery, ________ her in so much discomfort, pain, and suffering, I couldn’t express my ________ beyond words to the point. I ________ wanted to be able to share some of her pain.

During the first 3 days, after knowing that her ________ didn’t allow her to eat a single morsel (块) of food, it really ________ me just how long we can go without food and not damage our health. I decide to give her some ________ support by not eating for 3 days. Not that she said one word of ________ in that time but that I knew it would ________ us to be in this together.
