Today I want to relay to you that I’m proud of the work my mother has done, and I am now     1     of it. Is her work worth it? Yes, to the lives of the people she is helping, it is worth it. But by any     2     this work is worth it to us as well, because it shows that we are global citizens interested in world     3    , and that we feel responsible for others and are ready to build a community with a     4     future for mankind. Everyone deserves a fair chance in life. When I think of all the things that we as Chinese citizens can be most proud of, helping others     5     at the top of this list. Now that I understand     6     important my mother’s work is, I’ve decided to become a volunteer myself to help people in other lands. In the future, I     7     that you will do the same.

People take up hobbies because these activities offer enjoyment, friendship, knowledge, and relaxation. Sometimes they even yield     1     profit. Hobbies help people relax after     2     of hard work, and provide a balance between work and play. Hobbies also offer interesting activities for persons who have retired. In this emerging industry, manufacturing and programming standards are not yet     2    . Moreover, the quality and safety of the technology used in self-driving cars is still being challenged. This could lead to extraordinary cases like who should be held     3     when self-driving cars are involved in accidents — should it be the driver, the software programmer or the manufacturer? Manufacturing and programming standards first have to be agreed upon to make it possible for law courts to decide who is at fault when things go wrong.
