Miss Li, our English teacher, is very kind and friendly to     1     (we) all. We all respect her and get along     2     with her. But she is crazy about her work. Sometimes she works far late into the night in order     3     (prepare) her lessons well. At the same time she is very     4     (concern) about us students. Once I was reading a book     5     had nothing to do with my study in class and I was so absorbed into it that I didn’t notice Miss Li     6     (stand) by my back. She took the book away and got very angry.

After class she asked me to go to her office and talked to me face     7     face. To my surprise, she didn’t criticized me. Instead, she didn’t get tired of     8     (tell) me how to learn English well in order to make me     9     (fall) in love with English. She also encouraged me to keep a diary in English to set down what I saw and what I heard. With her patient help, I have made great progress in English, and this is the     10     (one) time I have not been afraid of it.
