Several days ago, my classmates and I visited to the Cincinnati School for the Blind and Deaf. We had party with some of the student there and had a wonderful time. I met a girl at the party. She couldn’t speak or hear, but we “talked” by writing on each other hands. When saying goodbye, she writes on my hand, “Please come here as often as possible.” Many people are concerning about disabled people and give her money. However, I think which we should do is to communicate with them rather than give money. If you want to help disabled people, making friends with them and visit them regularly. Yesterday I met a young student, that came from the USA, in the Palace Museum. It was first time that I had met a foreigner, so I went to greet him with English. He told me that he was a college student traveling in China and he likes China very much. I offered to show him around to the museum. He was impressing by the Chinese culture and busy taking photo all the time. He said he hadn’t seen such beauty buildings before. After that, we went boating and had a good time together. I was very glad to having the chance to share our culture with a foreigner and practice his spoken English as well.

Last Saturday, I went to watch the final of the 4×100-metre relay race in our stadium, where I visited for the first time. The experience left a deep impression to me. I had never been imagined that the atmosphere could be so intense. Everyone went wildly when the runners set off! We all stood up and started cheering and shouting. Held their sticks tightly, the runners ran as fast as they could. The race was over in just one and a half minute. It was Li Chong that first crossed finish line. Many people were on his feet, cheering. It was such wonderful to watch the excited event.

I am fond the summer holiday. Last summer, I go to Hawaii for my holiday. I often had a walk along the beach after the supper or had a swim in the afternoon. I couldn’t believe in my ears when I hear my name called. I was chose to play the leading role in the play, that was my dream. As a shy girl, I used to be quite afraid of speak in public. Look back to the National English Speaking Competition, I take part in several days ago, I have a lot to share with you. Firstly, I feel real delighted that I’ve won the first prize in the competition, which makes me to understand the true meaning of the proverb “No pains, no gains”. Beside, I’ve made many friends, from which I’ve learned a lot. More importantly, participating in this competition have enabled me to overcome my fear of speaking in public. Dear Mr Li,
I’m terribly sorry to have missed the first two lessons on today. I got up early as usual in the morning, but when I was ready to leave I find my bicycle’s front tyre flat. I wanted take a bus or taxi to school, but I didn’t have any money with me. I had to look for an place along the street to getting my bicycle repaired. Unlucky, there were not any bicycle repair shops what were open in the early morning. So I had to walk to school, carrying my bicycle all the way. That’s why I was later for school.
Please don’t worry about your lessons, Mr Li. I will made up for them and turn to teachers for help if necessary.
