文章大意:这是一篇说明文。文章介绍了对付拖延症的一些方法。

1 . We all are familiar with the term procrastination(拖延症).    1    Thus phenomenon is also called mood repair by some researchers in which we avoid the bad mood associated with our work by spending time on mood boosting activities. Here you’ll find four simple ways to help you quit procrastination habit to grow your career.

    2

We all need to break down our projects and goals unto smaller, more manageable things. Concentrating on one thing at a time ran help you complete you task more quickly than you think.

Set a realistic deadline.

3    Tasks are not likely to be concentrated in our minds without a clearly set deadline. The ambiguity(不明确) is also the biggest cause of procrastination.

Step away from a task for a while.

To maintain the level of efficiency, leave your desk to take a break or go outside for a walk.    4    Continuously thinking about your task can cause severe anxiety and make you feel overwhelmed. Taking a break will help you overcome your procrastination and work towards completing your task goals.

Perfectionism wastes time.

It is human nature that we always try to do our best, but in professional life, we all need to complete the task and move onto the next. As no finished product is perfect, we can only try to make it perfect. But if you keep trying for perfection, you will never finish your task. There is no perfect product, anywhere. You can just complete your task that is really good and accept that some faults are unavoidable.    5

A.Do one thing at a time.
B.Keep away from complex projects.
C.This makes task accomplishment easier.
D.Instead, focus on being better than perfect.
E.Let your mind relax without thinking about your tasks.
F.After all, you can always come back to improve on in the future.
G.It is a thought, an emotional reaction to putting off the task at hand.

8 . Having been down on myself and unhappy in my marriage I spent the week not being very nice to anyone in my family. I felt myself distancing myself from those people that were not the root of my anger. Those little people with sweet innocent eyes were wondering why Mommy was only going through the motions, wondering why there was no love in her actions. I pushed my daughter away as she tried to hug me.

For years I had made such a big deal out of having dinner as a family but during this time of heartache that I was experiencing I just couldn’t bring myself to be with them. I began to hate them. It would be so easy to change my life without having them to think about. And how many times had I heard that I needed to do what was best for the kids. Did nobody care what was best for me?

Then I watched a show on TV that made me realize what I was doing to these poor kids. I needed to control my own life, not only for my own sake but for my kids too.

That night I went to sleep with calm thoughts in my head. The issues in my marriage had not been resolved but the issues I had with myself had. I knew what I had to do to better my life and my children’s too.

The next morning after fixing and eating breakfast with my three wonderful kids,my middle son who is 5-year-old put his arms around me and said “Hey Mom, you’re really being nice to us today.” What could I say to that tiny face to take away all the pain that I had caused? I looked at his beautiful blue eyes and told him that mommy hadn’t been very happy lately and that I was sorry that I was not being nice.

1. What does the passage mainly tell us?

B.She would have to live a better life for herself.

9 . Do you have one of those days when everything seems to annoy you? Even if you do nothing about it, your bad moods will probably go away after some time.     1

Give yourself a positive talk.     2     Bad moods are often started by too many negative thoughts. Write them all down on paper and then give optimistic answers. Then try your best to think and behave positively.

3     Exercise is the most popular bad-mood buster (遏制者). A person who is in a bad mood has low energy and high tension. Taking a fast ten-minute walk or doing some quick exercises can do wonders towards changing that bad mood. However, you should pay attention to the length of time.

Avoid things that won't improve your moods. TV may not help much, because you need to increase your energy level and stimulate your mind. And before you reach for a piece of cake and coffee, think about how moods and food are linked.     4     Research shows that carbohydrates (碳水化合物) produce a calming effect on people who have a desire for   them.

Another simple way to be against unhappiness is to make a to-do list. One reason for being in a bad mood is feeling you have no options. By taking control over certain areas, your realize you are not helpless.     5

A.Walk it off.
B.Save your strength.
C.Stop and listen to what's on your mind.
D.Think about your past difficult experiences.
E.You can make changes in your moods and life.
F.Sugar and coffee contribute to depressed moods.
G.But with a little effort, you can forget it much faster.

10 . I was sitting at my kitchen table the other day with a pen, notebook, calculator and a pile of bills. I was doing my monthly budget. There were bills for electric water, rent, insurance, the car payment, the phone bill, and the cable bill. Plus money needed to be set aside for food, gas, clothes and hopefully a little left over to save for those unexpected bills that always seemed to show up. When I was done, I shook my head, closed my eyes and thought of a time long ago when I would regularly get treasures.

When I was a boy, we lived across the road from Camp Caesar. It held week long camps all through the summer and my grandma who I lovingly called “Nanny” worked in her big kitchen. I remember slipping there getting a smile, a hug, a kiss and a hot roll from Nanny. Then she would always take deep in her pockets and pull out a treasure, a shiny quarter. She would give it to me and I would run down the hill to either get an ice cold can of coke from the pop machine or I would head to the camp’s swimming pool where I could buy a warm cup of cherry coke for 15 cents and a tiny 10 cent bag of chips from a stand. I took my time because it was always a big decision. It was nice too feeling so rich for a few minutes.

Looking back now I can see that the real treasure was not the quarter at all. It was the love with which Nanny gave it to me. I would have still visited her at work every day if I had never gotten a single quarter. It was her smile, hugs, and kisses that were priceless in my heart then and now.

The old saying is true, “With your work you can make a living, but it is with your love that you make a life.” You can always welcome love into your heart, soul and mind. And you can always share your love with others. It is that one treasure that lasts forever.

1. According to Paragraph 1, what was the author trying to figure out?
A.Where to get treasures.B.What food and supplies to buy.
C.How to sort out these bills at hand.D.How to balance the money available.
2. What does the underlined word “roll” in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A.A kind of breadB.A kind of act.
C.A sound.D.A greeting.
3. Which of the following best describes Nanny?
A.Considerate.B.Generous.
C.Affectionate.D.Enthusiastic.
4. Why does the author mention the old saying in the last Paragraph?
A.To change people’s heart and soul.
B.To show what we should value in life.
C.To explain work and love can make a life.
D.To advise more love and sharing in childhood.
