In the summer holiday following my eighteen birthday, I took driving lessons. I still remember how hard first day was. Before getting into the car, I thought I had learned the instructor’s orders, so once I started the car, my mind goes blank. I forgot what he had said to me altogether. The instructor kept repeating the word, “Speed up!” “Slow down!” “Turning left!” I was so much nervous that I could hardly tell which direction was left. A few minutes late, the instructor asked me to stop the car. It was a relief and I came to a suddenly stop just in the middle on the road.
6 . Several years before, my friend and I would often drive to Chicago to pay a visit our other friends. After a couple of trips we noticed that there was a homeless man always sitting at a same exit of the subway. One day we brought some food with us and gave them to him. When he saw what we have brought for him, he became exciting with joy. After seeing his reaction, my friend and I decided to take our action a little of farther. One night we packed up sandwiches and bottles of water, looking for people whom were in need. The look of joy in the face of each person we helped was one of the most amazing feeling in my life.

Last week I went to visit to my former neighbor, Mr. Yang. He and I used to living next to each other for many years. About half a year ago, an order came which the old building, along with many other similar ones, were going to be pulled down to make room for a main street.
So I had to move apart. Mr. Yang now lives in the suburbs near a beautiful park. His new apartment is much big than before. The only problem is that it took quite a long time to get to the downtown area. Therefore, Mr. Yang doesn’t seem to worry about the long distance. He says that new subway line is to be built in a few year and he is sure life will be better in the future.

At the age of ten, I had a experience visiting a local American family with my parents. The family, the Smiths, which lived in a small village, led quite a simple and comfortable life. They were busy working in their fields during the day, and went to bed early at night, tiring after a long day’s hard work. On weekends, they usually held small family get-togethers, dancing and drinking to celebrate the happy days they ever had. Beside, people in the family were all very warm and enthusiastic. They did his best to treat us, making us feel at home. We really had funs together talking and laughing. As a matter of fact, they were eager to learn about Chinese culture and custom, especial Chinese food. They said Chinese food was a more balanced diet, containing much fiber, and less fat. Much to our delight, they promised to visit China in next year.
