I was a member of a tennis team in our school. One day, I saw a girl was not very friend to her partner, who I could tell were feeling upset and discouraged. See this, I went to the store without the hesitation, purchasing her a cute tennis cap and a chocolate bar. I wrote her in a note, telling her what an awesome teammate but tennis player she was. The next day while she saw me at the door, she said thanks to me. She was so moving that she talked to me for about 45 minute. Hopefully, she felt good after that.

On our way to the theatre for a movie yesterday, a friend of me felt a bit low. I knew her day had been a bit challenged. Soon we had passed by some trees with beautiful fall colors but the sun was shining down on them. When I showed the breathtaking scene to her, her mood started to change quick. She was so keen about the colors that she took several picture. Smiles also appeared in her face. And she chatted with me happily for long time. My dance school has a float in our town’s parade (游行) every year. I was so exciting when I got been selected to be part of the special dance. There was no water supply in my neighborhood today. Fortunately, the water came at 10:00 pm. When I went to the bathroom, I notice water running from the waste water pipe upstairs. I paid no attentions at first. But half an hour late, the water was still running. I eventually realized that our neighbor had forgotten to turn on the tap. As is known to all, this usual happens during water shutdowns. If I let it go, a lot of water would wasted overnight. So I got dressing and knocked on the neighbor’s door. Last week, my son found a toy by the roadside. He was so exciting by this amazing find. He holds onto it all day. The next morning, I told my son the news the toy in his arms belonged to another little boy. To my surprise, he glad gave me the toy and said he knew what were the right thing to do. Then the toy was returning to its owner. A week later, that little boy’s mum bought with a new toy for my son as a big thank-you gift.

Jim is one of my close friend. Two months ago, his mother buy a computer for him as a birthday present. She hoped Jim will study hard under the help of the computer. To his surprise, Jim just wasted plenty of time play computer games every day. Now she regrets buying the computer. As matter of fact, a computer can do a lot of everyday jobs for us. When I was in high school, there was a time when everyone in class cast down and need a bit of a cheer. On an afternoon, our English teacher, Mr. Liu walked into our classrooms, he noticed our feelings. He drew a picture on the whiteboard, what showed a half-full glass of water. He then said, “Class, the point of view from which you look at things will affect your feelings. Like this glass of water, some people see it and think ‘Only half a glass of water. How unfortunately I am.’ However, other people think ‘I’m so thirst. Half a glass of water for you! It is all in the way we think.” Later, all of us kept up spirits, and at last our efforts was paid off.
Mr. Liu’s optimistic way of thinking always make me feel glad and hopeful. I’m so grateful that I’ve met so a good teacher in my life.
