Today I will introduce two of the “Living Legends of Sports” to you, One is Lang Ping, and     1    other is Michael Jordan. Lang Ping is     2     (know) to Chinese people as a player and a coach. As a player, Lang Ping brought honour and glory to her country. As a coach, Lang Ping     3     (lead) her volleyball team to Olympic gold in Brazil in 2016.

Michael Jordan is famous as “Air Jordan”,     4    showed great mental     5     (strong) in the games. He says that the secret     6    his success is learning from failures. He also says that he can accept failures,     7    he can’t accept not trying.     8     (lose) games taught him to practise harder and never give     9    . Besides, he has learnt to share his success with others.

Although they are in different sports, they are both     10    (master) and set good examples for others.

6 . I never thought that a little help would turn out to be the most satisfying thing in my life. I once    1     (meet) a young man who seemed tired and in pain on my way home. With a smile, he asked    2    I could lend him some money. He was paralyzed (瘫痪的) in both legs and was raising money for a(n)    3    (operate). I read this story the other day and I liked it very much. Now I’d like to share it     1    you.

He was so worried about himself that he wanted to do nothing. It lasted for about a month. They told the man that he might die on the way, but the man insisted on doing it. So he began his journey around the world.

He made friends with the people     8     he met on ships or planes. He enjoyed good food and visited beautiful     9     (place). He was in a happy mood every day and even totally forgot his illness. He was still alive one year later. When he returned to his home country, he was happy and healthy.

We shouldn’t be worried about it when something bad     10     (happen) to us. Instead, we should overcome our anxiety. Things will not be as bad as we expect them to be.

Ashley Power’s mother bought a computer for her when she was eight. When she was thirteen, she was surfing the Internet regularly,     1     she couldn’t find anywhere for teenagers to meet and talk. One day she thought, “If I had my own website, I’d make     2     a really interesting site for teenagers.”

So, when Ashley was sixteen, she launched her own website,     3     (call) Goosehead. She had no idea     4     a big success it would be, but three years later, the site was the     5     (successful) teen site in the USA! It was getting 100,000 hits every day.

After a few years, the website closed down. Then Ashley, who lives in Los Angeles,     6     (ask) to write a book The Goosehead Guide to Life. The book is     7     how to design a website and start a business. “I was so happy. But it was crazy in a lot of ways. I got very stressed: I mean, I was only sixteen — I didn’t even have a car! If you were sixteen and You had your own company, you’d be stressed, too!”

In     8     interview Ashley gave advice to teenagers who wanted to start their own business, “Just be strong and have your dreams and work hard at them. And don’t listen when people tell you     9     you can’t do it, because I heard ‘no’ a lot. Just keep going     10     you’ll succeed!”
