Resilience is thought of as the ability to bear difficult and painful circumstances. It is what makes the difference between a person who gives up in 1 face of adversity and a person who somehow makes it through. Sometimes, we may not even realize how resilient we are until something 2 (unbelievable) disastrous happens in our lives.
Sometimes, when the worst happens, we blame everyone and everything around us—but ourselves—for 3 (we) misfortune. Other times, the worst happens, and we come out on the other side 4 (realize) that, “Hey, if I can get through that, I can get through anything.” In this way, we realize that we are, in fact, 5 (strong) than we knew. When disaster happens in our lives, we should allow ourselves 6 (feel) the emotional pain without letting it swallow us up.
When emotional pain and disaster spread through the soul fully, we run the risk 7 this pain becoming a long-term aspect of our identities, as a result of 8 we begin to see the pain as part of “who we are”. However, we are not the pain or the loss—we experience pain and loss. The beginning of the path towards building and increasing emotional resilience 9 (lie) in separating disaster and pain from who you are into something that you have witnessed, experienced, and ultimately learned valuable 10 (lesson) from.
