3 . The scene has been set. The Columbus Marathon, 26. 2 miles, Oct. 29th. For Rich Carryer and Michelle Cefola, two 34-year-old twins from Pittsburgh, PA, this was the day when months of hard work and dedication would pay off. Just a short time ago, they were both heading down the same road as their father, who had his first bypass surgery(心脏搭桥手术) at age 38. Regular workouts and a sensible diet just weren't part of their lives. Michelle, however, started a regular fitness program, and soon Michelle began to run. The going was slow at first, but soon Michelle was averaging 30-40 miles a week. With this new lifestyle Michelle was able to lose 90 pounds in 18 months.
Rich was inspired by Michelle's success and also began a dramatic transformation. Rich started a regular exercise routine and also began adding running to his regular exercise. Once again, the running came slow and short at first, but soon Rich was also running 30-40 miles a week. During the first 10 months of Rich's new lifestyle, he was able to lose more than 70 pounds. With all the running that the two were doing, and with all the hard work they had already completed, they decided to try to satisfy a deep-down wish to run a marathon together as the perfect culmination(顶点) of months of hard work.
Michelle thought the Columbus Marathon made the most sense, and Rich noticed that his employer, Giant Eagle grocery stores, would be opening new locations in the Columbus area shortly after the marathon on October 29th. Rich thought it would be a great way to promote Giant Eagle while they were in Columbus for the event. Rich took his idea to his supervisors(主管) and his idea was embraced, as Giant Eagle agreed to sponsor the twins' effort. They started a very strict 18-week marathon training program, which pushed them to their limits. While in Columbus, the two planned on promoting Giant Eagle in any way they could.
And so, on October 29th, Rich and Michelle reached a defining moment in their lives, They showed that each and every one of us has the power to change physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They learned that determination combined with a vision and fueled by inspiration, can lead to accomplishment.

4 . Money can buy happiness.
Spending money on experiences — travel, outdoor activities, concerts, classes, movies — brings us more joy than buying material things. One reason is that our experiences are a bigger part of our identity than our possessions. You can really like your material stuff, you can even think that part of your identity is connected to those things,
Another reason we value experience even after they’re over is that even negative experiences can become positive over time.
Shared experiences are also looked upon me favorably because they connect us to others more than shared consumption does. We feel more connected to people who have also backpacked through Europe than people who happen to have purchased the same iPhone.
A.But how you spend it matters. |
B.Yet they remain separate from you. |
C.You could use the material item every day. |
D.One of the enemies of happiness is adaptation. |
E.Just talking about them made their evaluation improve. |
F.Spending money on experiential purchases makes people more generous. |
G.If weighing your options, buying experience promises promotion of well being. |

10 . It might sound funny, but having a certain routine in the morning or evening will help you to grow personally, with your workouts and also with your job and life. Why is that? The humans adapt pretty well to routines and that makes us more efficient, meaning that you can save a lot of time and that your body also can relax better and faster. This is what I've learnt from my own morning routines.
I for myself always prepare my first meal for the following day every evening. I take 300ml of water,30 grams of chia seeds, and a couple of oats(燕麦)and leave them in a plastic container in my fridge overnight. All I have to do in the morning is to add some fresh berries.
I also have my cup and my coffee capsule ready, and the first thing when I come out off the bathroom is to turn on the coffee machine while I'm getting dressed. Getting dressed is a good point. I have already prepared my clothes for work. So I don't get stuck in my decision whether I want to wear the white, black, purple or blue blouse.
After I'm dressed, my coffee is ready and while I'm quickly getting my hair and make﹣up done,I'll drink my coffee. I don't need usually longer than 30﹣40 minutes in the morning to get ready and leave the house. This helps me firstly to sleep a little bit longer and secondly not to be in a rush and be calm for the day.
So,my friends, try to apply some certain routines to your day and you'll see how your mind and your body will adapt to them and you have more energy to focus on important things.
