1 . Skating School

Welcome to Northwell Health Ice Center Skating School, the best skating school on Long Island. Our programs are for all ages and levels; for skaters who simply want to skate for fun or hope to achieve the Olympic dream. Our coaching staff (全体职工) includes national and international coaches. All of them are members of the Professional Skaters Association (职业花样滑冰协会) and are trying their best to provide our skaters with a safe and fun environment.

Below you will find detailed information to help you have a fun and successful skating experience at Northwell Health Ice Center.

PROGRAM

Developed by Learn to Skate USA, our programs include basic through advanced levels.

ARRIVAL

Please try to arrive 15 minutes early. Go to the group class desk in the hall to check in.

SKATE RENTAL (租费)

Skate rentals are $5. 00.

ATTIRE (服装)

Proper attire is important. The skating school recommends gloves and a warm sweater. Please wear no snowsuits or ski jackets. Helmets are required and all skaters must provide their own.

PARENTS

Professionals are not allowed to speak to parents during class time. If you have a problem, please speak to someone in the skating school office, and they will be happy to help you. Parents are NEVER allowed to step on the ice during group lessons.

REFUNDS (退款)

There will be no refunds after registration (注册).

MAKEUP CLASSES

Only one makeup class is allowed and that class must be made up on a different day within the twelve-week classes.

Bentley University

Bentley means business-studying it train the context of a strong liberal-arts (文科) program. Bentley provides career-oriented internships (职业方向的实习) to more than 90% of its students. Its beautiful campus is at arm's length from Boston with buses to Harvard Square.

University of Illinois

Half a step behind the University of Michigan and neck and neck with the University of Wisconsin among top Midwestern public universities, U of I's advantages include business, communications engineering, architecture, and natural sciences. Nearly 80% of the students come from in-state, but it has approximately 10,000 foreign students from more than 110 countries.

Indiana University

Though men's basketball is IU's most famous program, it may not be its best. That distinction (声誉) could easily go to the famous music school or the well-known foreign language program.

Mount Holyoke College

One of two women's colleges gives students access to the resources of the four other institutions. MHC is strongest in the natural and social sciences, and one of few colleges to have a program devoted to leadership.

3 . The Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice considers all the pieces of your application as a collective representation of you academically and professionally. Below are some suggestions that may assist you in completing your application.

ESSAY

Respond directly to all the essay prompts (申请文书) regarding your professional goals, your strengths, and your learning needs with regards to a career in social work/social welfare.

Demonstrate how your prior experience might contribute to the Crown Family School classroom and a career in social work/social welfare.

Be sure to illustrate why you want to be at Crown Family School—what is it that we do here that you want to be a part of or are there any specific faculty (全体教师) with whom you want to work?

Remember that the essay is about both content and comprehension, so read and re-read your statement for content, flow, and to catch any grammatical errors you missed the first time through.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

Your recommenders should be individuals who know you well and can evaluate your potential for graduate school education.

We discourage letters from friends, relatives, neighbors, doctors, etc.

If you have recently graduated or are about to graduate, reach out to professors. If you have worked, ask your supervisor.

We want letters that can speak on your performance and why you would make a great addition to the field of social work/social welfare or social sector leadership/nonprofit management.

TRANSCRIPTS

Our students come from a variety of academic backgrounds and undergraduate majors including those in the social sciences, humanities, biological sciences, and arts.

While a cumulative GPA is important, we are also mindful of your last 3-4 terms, your grades in coursework relevant to social work/social welfare.
