The British spend a lot of their free time watching and playing sport. One of the     1    (popular) sports of all is, of course, football or soccer. A white winter in Beijing is nothing new. The city is    1    （frequent）enveloped in snow over the colder months. However, the snowfall last weekend led    2    a unique combination of the seasons and a contrast of colours.

Famous places, especially with unique    3    （nature）beauty, were blanketed with a layer of snow and visitors. Camera in hand and braving the cold, I headed off to two of my favourite scenic    4    （spot）.

This created a picture I wouldn't soon forget.

Computer games and television have replaced stick throwing, tree climbing and hole building as children spend more time indoors.

I find that it's always worth checking out the parks when you visit a foreign city. Besides providing a welcome break, they can contain some interesting surprises. Sky Mirror,     4     its name suggests, is placed at an angle to reflect the changing sky. It was so funny to watch dogs and children approach it, trying to figure out what they were looking at.

Chinese people have spent     1     (much)time on leisure activities this year compared with the period before the novel coronavirus hit, according     2     a recent report by the China Tourism Academy.

Have you ever been to an amusement park? My parents and I     1     (go) to visit the biggest amusement park in our city next weekend. A few weeks ago, a friend and I, both traveling in the south of France,     1     (decide) to go to the chocolate festival,     2     (call) “Feria du Chocolat” in French. I had     3     wonderful time.

There were stalls (货摊) selling boxes of chocolates, sweets, dessert wines, etc. All the stall owners were very friendly and happy to see the     4     (arrive) of foreigners like us. They explained their methods of     5     (make) chocolate, showed us photos of their factories, and, of course, let us try their products! My friend bought some chocolate cups,     6     I think is a great novelty (新鲜事物) — you drink your drink, and then you can eat the chocolate cup!

We then went to a masterclass where we learnt how to make chocolate. Luckily, everyone was     9     (extreme) friendly — the lady next     10     me was making notes of everything we did, so she explained when I didn’t understand. At the end, our class stayed in the room and chatted about how much we were enjoying the day and eating lots of chocolate!
