My name is Adam and I’m the freshman at senior high school. Going from junior high school to senior high school are a really big challenge. The first week was a little confused.

First, I had to think very carefully about what courses I wanted to take. The school adviser helped me choose the suit ones: maths, English, chemistry, world history, and Chinese. My adviser recommended that I should sign up for advanced literature because I like English and I’m good at it.

I had to choose extra-curricular activity, too. I tried to join the school football team, but the coach told me that I didn’t play well enough. Obvious, I was unhappy, but I won’t quit. I’ll find a way improve on my own so that I can make the team next year.

I know I’ll have to study harder as a senior high school student and get use to being responsible for a lot more. I’m a bit worried about keep up with the other students in my advanced courses.

Some students copy others’ homework. In one hand, it is true that sometimes we have many problem with our homework. On the other hand, some students copy others’ homework because they are not interesting in their lessons.

In my opinions, copying others’ homework are a bad habit. For one thing, it is be against the rules of the school. We should work hardly to achieve high grades. For another, because copying others’ homework, we will lose the ability to thinking.

I must thank my English teacher Susan, with his help I won the first prize in the English Talent Competition for high school student last week.

I used to be poorly in spoken English. I was so shy to speak in class. Since she teaches us last term, she has been encouraged me to speak out in class. Thanks to her, I have made a great progress. Some Senior 3 students can't study efficient because of staying up late. What's the more, many have anxiety, that also leads to the inefficiency of studying. In respect of the problem, I have some suggestion for them. First, they should have enough sleep, which is of great important. Besides, striking a balance between study and relaxation are necessary. Finally, it's a great idea for them to spend more time do sports. In my opinion, more attention should paid to Senior 3 students’ health. I suggest they take care of them so that they can stay healthy but study well.

I’m glad to accept your letter ask for my advice on how to learn Chinese well. My suggestions is as follows.

First, it was important to take a Chinese course, as you’ll be able to learn from the teachers and practice with your fellow students. Then, you’d better watch the TV and read books, newspaper and magazines in Chinese.

When I was a senior high student, the only subject I enjoyed is Art. I had the ability to drawing pictures perfectly, but I couldn’t know that how I succeeded. I hated subject like Latin and French. I had much difficult in reading and spelling. I was hopelessly at maths, too. I could see the classmates which went to school all studied hard. As a senior high school student, I used to spend plenty of times figuring out difficult math questions. However, there was always other one waiting for me when I was still trapped to the former. Felt upset, I turned to my teacher Mr. Green for help. He told me that what we should focused was not on pretty hard ones but on basic questions for they were the mainly components of the test paper, that impressed me a lot. Since then, I changed my learning strategies to much easier ones and made a progress in math. What grateful I am to take Mr. Green's advice!
