We study at a board school (寄宿学校) and can’t go out without permission. Days seem too long and sometimes we miss our parents. Most of us are looking forward to weekends, expecting to go back home.

On March 12, Qi Yuehua, head of the Baerhu Road Station of the New Baerhu Zuoqi Fire and Rescue Brigade in Hulunbuir, said in an interview that the team members worked continuously for nearly five hours two days ago, saving 8 people trapped in 3 cars. The temperature at the time was around minus 30 degrees Celsius, so there was later a scene of firefighters being frozen into “icemen”.
“At 12:46 on March 10, we received a call for help, saying that a vehicle was trapped in the snow 35 kilometers away in the direction of National Highway 332. A driver was trapped in the car waiting for rescue” said Qi Yuehua. “By noon, a fierce snowstorm had formed, and it was blowing strongly and the temperature was very low. Obviously, it was dangerous to drive out, but everyone must immediately go to the scene.”
The two rescue vehicles with 12 firefighters set out at 12:50. The visibility was less than 5 meters that day, and the snowy road was slippery, making driving very difficult. It was hard to tell which way it was to the rescue site, and the rescue team could only move slowly based on previous driving experience. Consequently, it took more than an hour that day to drive for a journey that usually takes only ten minutes.
At 14:18, the rescue team eventually arrived at the scene and found the location of the trapped driver. Due to the heavy wind and snow, the door of the vehicle could not be completely closed. The driver hid in the car, trembling violently with cold. The firefighters found that two other vehicles with seven people were also trapped there. They were involved in a traffic accident due to slippery roads and poor visibility.

Brady lifted his head and smelled the smoke-laden wind. Next moment, the dog ran away and disappeared. The boys yelled and shouted for him, but he didn’t come back.

He jumped to his feet and tried to turn on the light. It didn’t work. He reached the back door, but just then came aloud cracking noise. Next moment a pile of bricks came down around him. He found a small branch on the beach and used it as a support. After struggling along the beach for a while, the pain became too much to handle. He stopped and thought about what else he could do.
With no phone and no one around, and with his leg hurting badly, Tim had a difficult decision to make. He could either continue this way in pain and hope that someone happened to see him, or he could try something else. Unable to walk，Tim thought he still had the ability to crawl (爬行), and so he did.
Making such a choice had been easy, but the crawling was tough. After crawling for almost two hours, it was getting dark, so Tim started flashing his torch (手电) to signal SOS and swung it around his head to attract attention. There was no response to begin with, so he crawled for five minutes and covered about 50 meters before making the same signal three times.

“Just keep her going straight. I’m going to check something.” Sean held the wheel tightly. Suddenly, the wind changed direction. The boat shook sharply and even tipped (倾斜) to one side. “Dad!” he called, but no response. He didn’t see him anywhere on the sailboat. Just then, the water became calm a little. Sean caught the chance to look the wheel quickly. He looked out at the huge crashing waves. Then he saw it--- a flash of a figure.
