Tips for Writing a Cover Letter
If you are applying for an internship, you will likely have to submit a cover letter as part of your application. Read below for tips on writing an internship cover letter.
Use Business Letter Format
Use proper business letter format when sending a cover letter by mail. Include your contact information at the top, the date, and the contact information for the employer. Be sure to provide a proper salutation, and sign your name at the bottom.
Individualize Your Cover Letter
Make sure to write a unique cover letter for each internship for which you apply. Highlight skills and abilities you have that relate to the specific internship listing. The main emphasis of your cover letter should be convincing the reader that you will be a qualified intern.
Emphasize Your Academic Experience
In the letter, you can mention academic experience, if applicable. Especially if you have limited work experience, you might use examples from school to demonstrate that you have particular skills. For example, if the internship requires you to work as part of a team, provide an example of an assistant at the library or a successful team project you worked on during one of your college courses.
Include Extra Classroom Experiences
You can also include details about your relevant experience form extra classroom activities or volunteer work. For example, a reporter for a college newspaper can point to interviewing and writing skills; a history of volunteering at a shelter can provide an example of strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Proofread and Edit
Be sure to thoroughly proofread your cover letter for spelling and grammar errors. Many internships are very competitive, and any error can hurt your chances of getting an interview. Also, avoid using too many words to convey your information and intention.

Eat healthy snacks like fruits, yogurt or cheese. We all need snacks sometimes. In fact, it’s a good idea to eat two healthy snacks between your three meals. This doesn’t mean that you can eat a bag of chips instead of a meal.

made the call, expecting the man at the other end of the line to complain about such an awful job. Instead, he simply asked, “The address?”
An hour later Steve arrived in his truck. He looked exactly as I had imagined he might: broad and bearlike, in well-worn clothing. “Can you fix it?”I asked with a mixture of doubt and hope. Steve looked at me as if responding to my lack of faith. With a cheerful shrug that suggested my crisis was all in a day’s work for him, he said, “Sure.”
After a short while, Steve told me that he had to get a tool and tear up the street to the main sewer line. He would first have to get permission from the town. I registered appropriate panic. “How long will all this take?”Again, a shrug. “I should have it done by evening.”
I did not want to watch the digging of my property unfold and went into town to visit some fiends. I felt somewhat guilty upon driving off in my clean vehicle, leaving Steve to such a disagreeable task. Finally, when I went home, a sweeter sight I never saw; a period of newly paved street and all was tidy and relatively dry.
I need to say, in my own defense, that I am not a weak father of two children. I’ve traveled all over the world, served in the United States Navy and earned a PhD. But the broken sewer line was my limit. Then I thought about Steve. Big, rough, and how people might judge him, if not for his appearance then for his work. And I was taken by the very idea that, no matter what crisis occurs, there is somebody, somewhere, who has the appropriate tools and settles it.

“Social media is foreign to many older professionals—but very important for connecting with today’s customers,” Ms Van Tubbergh said. “We have this workforce sitting in schools doing this already but they’re doing it for fun.” Ms Van Tubbergh’s company, which helps launch products to market, took then Year 10 students Braith Mansfield and Tahmana Rudolph on for two weeks’ work experience.

“This is a dream that has come true for me and for everyone at SpaceX,” Musk told reporters before the first launch attempt on May 27, which was scrubbed due to weather. “This is not something I thought would actually happen. When starting SpaceX in 2002, I really did not think this day would occur. I expected a 90% chance that we would fail to even get to low-Earth orbit with a smaller rocket.”
The SpaceX Demo-2 mission, the first manned spaceflight launched from American soil since NASA retired the Shuttle program in 2011, is also the first ever operated by a commercial provider. The two NASA astronauts, Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley, went on to successfully dock the Crew Dragon capsule with the ISS on Sunday morning. While the mission won’t be considered a complete success until Behnken and Hurley are safely home, the return of manned spaceflight to America signals some big shifts in the months and years ahead. One of the most immediate impacts — Russia’s monopoly (垄断) on astronaut access to space is over.
Since 2011, NASA has been purchasing seats aboard Russia’s Soyuz spacecraft to shuttle astronauts to the ISS. While seats started out at around $21 million each at first, they’ve since ballooned to a reported $90 million for a fall 2020 launch. In comparison, according to NASA’s inspector general, the per-seat cost of SpaceX flights is around $55 million. “It is a nightmare scenario for the Russian space agency,” one industry expert said. “We’re building a replacement to every rocket and spacecraft they provide.”
Beyond providing access to astronauts, SpaceX’s Crew Dragon is also on the verge of widening access to citizens — that is, if you happen to be a citizen with some deep pockets. According to Business Insider, NASA only plans to book four seats at a time on each spaceflight. With Dragon capable of comfortably seating seven, this leaves extra tickets for those interested in visiting the final frontier themselves. SpaceX has also partnered with Space Adventures, a company that has previously helped private citizens take trips to the ISS aboard Russia’s Soyuz spacecraft, to send four tourists on a trip around the Earth in late 2021 or early 2022.
“This historic mission will forge (努力缔造) a path to making spaceflight possible for all people who dream of it,” said Gwynne Shotwell, president and chief operating officer at SpaceX, in a statement.
1. What was Musk’s attitude toward the launch when starting SpaceX?A.Confident. | B.Optimistic. | C.Doubtful. | D.Excited. |

B.It has replaced Russia’s monopoly in the field of space. |

Wall Street's response to Apple's annual product release on Wednesday was, as one analyst described it, a yawn.
The company released a handful of new devices and modest updates, including three new versions of the iPhone X and an Apple Watch with new features. All of that was expected.
Apple (AAPL) shares dropped slightly Wednesday, down 1.2%. But it bounced back: The stock was up more than 2% Thursday afternoon.
It's a sign that investors were willing to forgive the dull performance on Wednesday in light of Apple's strong financial outlook, analysts and investors told CNN.
Ross Gerber, Gerber Kawasaki
Activist investor Ross Gerber, the CEO of Gerber Kawasaki told CNN's Julia Chatterley on Thursday that Apple was “basically giving me the same phone again.”
He also made fun of the company's live-stream (网络直播), during which Apple displayed a new Apple Watch feature that will alert the police if the wearer falls down.
“They're so out of touch with the consumers,” Gerber said. “Who are you marketing to here? That 70-year-old crowd doesn't stream anything,” he said, referring to CEO Tim Cook.
But a boring presentation on Wednesday wasn't enough to sour Gerber on Apple's stock.
Daniel Morgan, Synovus Trust Company
Daniel Morgan, a vice president and senior manager at Synovus Trust Company, said in a phone interview that he wasn't fascinated with the latest Apple event, either.
But as an investor, he's keen on Apple's plan to increase the average sales price of its phones with the iPhone XS. That can keep shareholders happy while customers wait for Apple's next big thing—whenever that may be.
1. Apple's stock performance on Wednesday showed that_________.A.Apple has lost many investors | B.Apple's economic prospect is reliable |
C.Apple releases new products regularly | D.Apple's product release was unexpected |
A.Old people seldom used Apple products. |
B.The new function would be totally meaningless. |
C.The new function would add burden to the police force. |
D.Apple used a wrong medium to target the intended users. |
A.Customers are satisfied with Apple's new updates. |
B.The stock of Apple has experienced ups and downs. |
C.Investors still trust Apple despite its dull new release. |
D.Apple's iPhone sales are promoted by the new release. |

And yes, it’s good to get along well with your teacher because, in general, it’s smart to learn how to get along well with the different types of people you’ll meet throughout your life.

By dealing with a problem like this, you learn something about how to get along with people who are different from you.
