It's a warm summer afternoon. You're cooking over a campfire. Suddenly, a few raindrops fall on your arms, and before you know it, the sky is opened up. Then you hear what sounds like thunder in the distance. What should you do? Your tent is close by and would offer shelter from the pouring rain. There's a campsite (野营地) a few minutes down the path. And then you remember that your car is parked down the road. What's your safest choice to make sure you and your families are safe?

It's a common question for many hikers and campers, especially when they're camping during summer months. Heading for your car is almost always the safest choice. Your tent and a shelter will keep you dry, but they offer little or no protection against lightning. Your car, on the other hand, will keep you dry and protect you from lightning strikes. Protecting yourself against possible lightning strikes is very important; lightning kills an average of 62 people in the US each year. If you keep all of the windows and doors closed in your car, you'll be able to return to your campsite safely.

Of course, if you're backpacking, not car camping, and if you're deep in the woods, your car won't be a good choice. So, what should you do if your car is far away and there's no other safe shelter nearby? First, you'll have to make sure that tree limbs (大树枝) or other objects don't fall on you or your campsite. Then you'll have to get in a safe position to avoid lightning, or flash flood conditions.

2. To avoid lightning in a storm, you'd better ________.
A.go into your tent quicklyB.stay around the campfire
C.run into a campsite at onceD.get into your car

A.People should not go camping alone.
B.People should never camp deep in the woods.
C.Backpacking is not a good choice for campers.
D.Finding a shelter when camping without a car is important.
4. What can we know about camping from the passage?

【推荐1】How to enjoy working out if you hate exercise

Regular physical activity helps people build their bodies, it is also great at fighting anxiety and depression. However, not everyone is into sports. How can you create a workout routine you can stick with and enjoy?     1

Make exercising a regular part of your day.

At first, I took a casual approach to exercise and worked out every other day, but if I didn’t make it, I just let it go. The problem was, I kept finding reasons to bag my workouts.     2     So I changed my approach and decided exercise had to be a regular part of my day, like eating or sleeping. Now setting a specific time for working out helped keep me on task.

    3

One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is doing too much, too soon. If you want to try running, don’t go out and run 3 miles as fast as you can. Alternate running a block or a minute with walking a block or a minute for just 1 mile and build from there. This same principle applies to any new activity you select. And give your new activity time, as it takes a while for a new behavior to become a habit.

Find a form of exercise you like doing.

Not everyone will get into running, like I did. Try various exercises and see what suits you. It might be running, swimming or biking.     4     It’s all movement, and that's all good.

Add fun factor to the exercise.

Even if you find an exercise you enjoy, not every workout will be fun. Sometimes you’ll be tired or just not in the mood to work out. This is when it’s time to get creative. Regularly exercising with a friend can help motivate both of you to keep it up. Drive to your favorite park, join a friend in their favorite activity or treat yourself to some new workout clothes.     5

A.Soon I was running just one day a week.
B.Do whatever it takes to keep exercising.
C.Here are four tips I’ve found beneficial.
D.Start slowly, and give your new routine time.
E.The more exercise you take, the healthier you will be.
F.Below are several things you should do to ensure safety.
G.Or you might prefer working out to a video or dancing in your own room.

【推荐2】Will there be an outbreak of bird flu that threatens humans? Many experts disagree on when or whether a human pandemic (大流行病) will occur, but do say there is a chance that the virus could mutate(变异), leading to widespread infection.    1    Here’s what you need to know to help keep yourself healthy.

Stock up on food, water and household supplies. If there is a bird flu pandemic, you'll want to minimize your chance of catching it by staying indoors; you might even be required to stay home if the government asks that people remain in quarantine (隔离期). You’d better stock up today on at least 2-week worth of essentials such as water, food, emergency and medical supplies.     2

Have an outbreak plan. It may feel odd or uncomfortable to talk to family members and loved ones about the worst-case pandemic scenario. But if that scenario strikes, you’ll all be much better off if you have a plan decided on and ready.     3     Figure out how you would care for them and what your first response and responsibilities would be; this is an especially important conversation to have with those with special care needs.

4     Things like keeping a balanced diet, exercising regularly and getting sufficient rest can help keep you healthy in an outbreak and also keep you from catching the common cold. Particularly in a flu outbreak situation, it will be important to wash our hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Be diligent about covering coughs and sneezes with tissues.

Moreover, know your essential health information such as blood type, allergies, and past or current medical conditions. Make a list of that essential information for all the members of your family.     5     And do make sure everyone in your household knows where to find it.

A.Work out regularly to stay slim.
B.Pick up the habits of healthy behavior.
C.It is wise to keep it somewhere safe and visible.
D.It’s important to ask yourself these questions before a pandemic occurs.
E.Talk with your friends and family about how you’d respond to an epidemic.
F.In that case, the best thing you can do right now is to prepare for that possibility.
G.That will help you get through an extended time at home if an outbreak happens.

Tips to Increase Your Productivity

Want to get more done in your day? Of course you do.    1    The good news is that everyone can increase the amount of tasks they accomplish in a day. Here are some tips to help you have a more productive day.

Make a plan for your day. Make sure you know how you want your day to go in advance, even before you start.    2    To work best, create the next day’s plan the night before so that every morning you spend time performing, not planning.

Break large tasks down into bits accomplished easily. Do you have a large project that’s just so big that you keep putting it off? Or maybe you’re just unsure of where to begin, so you put it off.    3    Therefore, you will feel a sense of accomplishment as you check the items of your list.

Always set your priorities.    4    Figure out what must be done, do that first and rank the rest of your work according to importance. If you don’t get to the items at the end of your list, it won’t be a big problem, and you can do them another time.

5    If you are the most productive in the morning, that’s when you should hit it hard and do as much as you can. If you work better in the afternoon, take care of some things like emails in the morning and then accomplish the important projects in the afternoon. Keep on top of your work habits, and you’ll be more productive.

A.A good way is to break the project down into more manageable ones.
B.It’s important to accomplish the most important tasks first.
C.This can provide you a roadmap for the day.
D.To stay competitive in any industry, you need to improve your productivity.
E.Be aware of when you are the most productive.
F.Reward yourself if you are productive.
G.It’s tough to meet depressed people who are productive.
