So this is it—    1    (高级的) high school at last! I’m not     2     (外向的) so I’m a little     3     (焦虑的) right now. I want to make a good first     4     (印象). Will I make any friends? What if no one talks to me?

Peru is a country on the Pacific coast of South America with three main areas:     5     (狭窄的), dry,     6     (平坦的) land running along the coast, the Andes Mountains, and the Amazon rainforest. In the 1400s and 1500s, Peru was the center of the     7     (强有力的，有影响力的) ancient Inca Empire. The Inca     8     (皇帝) lived in the now-famous     9     (地点) Machu Picchu. Spain took control of Peru in the 16^th century and ruled until 1821. It is for this reason that Spanish is the main     10     (官方的) language of Peru.

The first day I was in senior high school, I felt     1     (焦虑的) and awkward. I was frightened that I could not     2     (留下好的第一印象). What if the     3     (讲座) were hard?     4     (终于), after     5     (登记) in the registration office, I had my first chemistry lesson. The teacher’s teaching strategy and     6     (方式) were so     7     (有组织的) that we could all     8     (集中精力于) his experiment and     9     (记笔记). During the break, I     10     (交换) ideas with my partner and found the guy     11     (自信的) and     12     (外向的). His     13     (目标) was to become a     14     (设计师) and design for his company. I was impressed by his strong personality and confidence. Later in the day, I was     15     (好奇的) to     16     (探索) the campus and     17     (盼望着复习) what was taught.

In the past few decades, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of people studying abroad. Although studying abroad can bring great     1    , I think the disadvantages for young people are greater.

To begin with, many students who study abroad face great economic pressure. That     2     studying abroad is just not possible for everyone. Tuition fees and living     3     are much more expensive than at home and could end up costing most families an arm and a leg. Studying in China is much more     4     and can help save money.

Another important factor to     5     is the tremendous pressure that comes with studying abroad. Students must learn how to live in an unfamiliar     6     with limited language skills. Some may struggle and suffer from culture shock when learning how to     7     in new surroundings. Other students are not     8     enough to handle the challenges by themselves and may become depressed. In addition, different     9     to teaching and learning may come as a shock to many students.

To sum up, one can not     10     the fact that studying abroad has its disadvantages, so when you think about studying abroad, you should consider these many factors.
