How can English be learned well? In my view, keeping up with teachers is a good way. Teachers are experienced and their plans are effective. But remember to work in a way that suits you.     1     Keep a notebook to make a record of the mistakes you make —it’ll help you avoid making the same ones later.

The school life may be hard, but you’re not alone. You may be busy studying, but you can show your care by calling your friends or sending short messages.     2

It’s as important to live well as it is to study well. Going to bed no later than 11: 30 pm is important.     3     You needn’t follow a special diet, but make sure you are eating healthy meals each day.

4     Having a lot of schoolwork doesn’t mean having to quit other activities. Playing basketball or having a talk with your classmates can relax yourself. Time out is not a waste of time but helps you study more efficiently.

Besides taking the College Entrance Examination, you have other choices for college.     5     Pay attention to the useful information you can find, whether it’s from school, the news media or other sources.

A.Don’t let your friendships die.
B.Your friends are good for your study.
C.If you took notes in class, re-read them.
D.The person who plays well studies well.
E.It puts you in the right state for the next day.
F.Some students even apply for studying abroad.
G.It’s important to learn from past mistakes as well.

【推荐1】Once a blind man fell flat on his face, which was awful but finally harmless. His service dog, however, was trained lo turn to an adult if the owner had an epileptic seizure (癫瘤发作). While the dog did what it was taught, the first person it found was merely annoyed but not alarmed. Thankfully, the dog’s owner was not in the situation of medical emergency. But the experience inspiredhimto share this information on social media, “If a service dog without a person approaches you, it means the person is down and in need of help,” the owner explained. “Don’t get scared, don’t get annoyed, and follow the dog! If the first person doesn’t cooperate, it moves on.

Referring to the accident, a TV presenter asked a dog trainer, Olivia, some basic questions about service dogs, including how humans should react if an unaccompanied service dog approaches them.

“What they’re going to do is sniff and gently push your leg,” the trainer explained, specifically noting that service dogs are not usually trained to jump or bark. “If you see a dog in a vest without a person around it, follow it.” When asked if one should say something to indicate they’re prepared to follow the dog, Olivia said,” there’s no clear command. Just start walking wherever the dog leads.”

Olivia concluded the TV show by adding that those who rely on service dogs could train their companions to move along to someone else, if the first person the dog came upon reacted negatively to its request. Doing so could finally save the owner’s life.

【推荐2】As I walked to a convenience store to get a snack last month, there was another customer ahead of me. And he opened the door for himself without bothering to look back. How rude, I thought. Didn’t he see me? Did he do that on purpose?     1    . I knew it’s a waste of emotional energy on a trivial (微不足道的) moment. But I wondered — why was I taking this incident so personally?

To help answer the question, I turned to Ethan Kross, psychologist and author of Chatter: The Voice in Our Head. He shares ways to slow down when things feel personal.

    2

If you find yourself in a situation that offends (冒犯) you, pause before reacting, says Kross. Acknowledge your feelings and think about how your response might affect the other person.     3    . This will help us find good solutions to the problem.

Look at the problem from another perspective (视角)

If you still can’t let the personal comment go, you can try distancing yourself from it mentally.     4    .

It might seem like an unusual approach, but Kross’ research has shown that it can help people get out of their heads and promote wise reasoning. In a 2014 study, he found that people displayed more wisdom when trying to figure out their own problem if they thought about it in the third person.

Build up your confidence

Self-confidence can go a long way in protecting us from taking things too personally. If we’re grounded in the fact that we’re unconditionally worthy, Kross says, then we’re less likely to take offense when somebody doesn’t treat us that way.

Kross suggests spending time around people who remind us of care and respect we deserve, like close friends and family members.     5    .

B.Never get stuck in a bad mood
C.Then you don’t want to say anything hurtful
