The White Rabbit stood up and opened a piece of paper. He cleared his throat and read:

And took them quite away.

“Call the first witness!” said the King impatiently.

The first witness was the Hatter. He came in with a teacup in one hand and a piece of bread and butter in the other. “I beg your pardon, Your Majesty,” he began, “for bringing this into the court. But I hadn’t quite finished my tea when I was sent for.”

The Queen put on her glasses and looked angrily at the Hatter. The Hatter’s face turned white.

“Give your evidence(证据),” said the King, “and don’t be nervous or I will have you killed right here.” This did not seem to calm the Hatter at all. He shook hard and bit a large piece out of his teacup instead of the bread and butter.

“I’m a poor man, Your Majesty,” said the Hatter, “I hadn’t but just begun my tea. Not above a week or so. After that, I cut some more bread and butter.”

“If that’s all you know about it, you may go,” said the King.

The Hatter left the court in a hurry without even waiting to put on his shoes.

“Just take his head off outside,” the Queen said to one officer. But the Hatter was already out of sight.

“Call the next witness!” said the King.

Jan’s Diary

I had an amazing dream last night. It was about the future. At that time my house was in the middle of a big city. I looked out of my window and there were streets full of people. There were lots of tall buildings full of lights. I looked up and there were taxis flying in the sky. It was night but there was light and color here and there.

But in the end, I wake up this morning and find that everything is still the same. I am in the present and it's time for me to get ready for school.

I think I had a time travel! On a dark night a few days ago, I went out to look for my time capsule. I never found my way back! I had to come with Tom, a boy I just met, to his home.

I find out I am in the past while I am having breakfast. It is the year of 1976 now! I don’t have a PC. I don’t have the Internet. I don’t know how to go back home. I cry for such a long time.

It is Saturday so there is no school in 2010 or in 1976. Tom and I go cycling today. My parents never allow me to cycle on the roads. It’s too dangerous. But today the road is empty. I feel so free as I cycle faster and faster, following Tom further and further away from the town.
