A lion fell in love with (爱上) a woodcutter’s daughter and told the man to let the girl to marry (嫁) him. The woodcutter and his daughter were ______ of the lion. Can you travel with your home? Some people in the US may say “Yes!”. During the holidays, some US families often get into their recreational vehicles (RVs房车) and go on a road trip across the country.

People call RVs the houses on the wheels (车轮). From a kitchen and bathroom to beds, you can find most ordinary (普通的) rooms here. How cool it is!

Not like real (真的) houses, these homes on the road are small. But with them, your trip becomes easy. You can drive as long as you like. Or you can just stop somewhere nice and stay there for a few weeks. On the road, you may also meet other travelling families. Together, you take out your tents and snacks. It’s happy camping time!

But these moving homes have their problems too. They can sometimes break down. But this kind of road trip is still very popular. People can go anywhere at any time.

You may know the English letters A, B, C, but do you know there are people called “ABC”? You may like eating bananas, but do you know there are people called “banana people”? If you don’t know, I will tell you about them. They are some Chinese people like you and me, but they aren’t in China. Why do people call them like that?

If we call somebody an “ABC”, we mean he or she is a Chinese person but was born in America. Sometimes, people also call them “banana people”. A banana is yellow outside and white inside. So if somebody is a “banana person”, he or she is “white” inside and “yellow” outside. By saying that, we mean he or she has yellow skin (皮肤) but does things in an American way. “Banana people” were born in America and they live in America for a long time, so they think like Americans and do things like Americans. However, these people still have Chinese blood (血统). Their parents, grandparents, or even great-grandparents are from China. They all have black eyes and black hair, so they look like us, Chinese people.

There are many famous “banana people” in America. They do very well in America and they are really great in their own fields.
