The view in the countryside is very beautiful. The city is exciting, and _________ many shops. People here like to go out more often, _________ in China, people like to stay at home in their free time.

Our choir (合唱队) _________ for the children in a school yesterday. How beautiful our voices were! It was really _________ amazing show. Later, we went sightseeing around the main square. I found some old buildings _________ a long history. They are perfect.

As for food, they eat _________ bread and meat and one of their favourite drinks is beer. I was surprised to see teenagers drinking huge cups of beer, right in the square!

John was a boy of 15. His parents were busy with work far away from home and spent little time with him. He was often late for school, slept in class and did badly in his school work. His teachers didn't like him and his classmates never played with him. No one cared（关心）about him and he just wanted to give himself up.

One day, Miss Green, a new teacher, came to John's class. She was friendly and beautiful. John liked her and he tried to listen to her class. But still he didn't do well in his exams（考试）. It was Miss Green's class. She was asking a question. "I'd like the smartest boy to answer my question," Then she said, "John, please!" John was surprised and didn't say anything, "just try it! I am sure you can!" Miss Green said. After school, Miss Green had a long talk with John. She told him that he was a good boy and she was worried about his study. John thought a lot that evening. From then on he got to school on time every day. Miss Green helped him with his homework in the afternoon. She also cooked delicious food for him. She told John that he could do well in his study if he worked hard in it. Later, Miss Green gave another exam. John tried his best to finish it and he was very excited to find that he did it well. Now John got a great change and he knew that he could not only learn, but also do it well.

Last week, we had a good time in Hong Kong Disneyland. The following is some information for sightseeing. I think it will be helpful for you if you plan to visit it.

Animals are our friends. Dogs can help blind people go to some places. Now, horses can also do it. Digby is a small American horse. Now, he is the first guide horse in England. And his owner(主人) is a blind man named Mohammed Patel. Patel is afraid of dogs, so he chooses Digby as his guide.

Before Digby became Mohammed Patel’s guide, it got a lot of training and worked very hard. It learnt how to lead Patel to walk on the street. It learnt how to get magazines for Patel. It also helped Patel choose clothes when he went shopping.

Now, Digby is not a small horse and it is about 0.8 meters tall. It is very big, so Patel can’t take it to his company. When Patel takes it to the office, it knocks(撞) things off the desks. So Patel has to say goodbye to Digby. Digby is sad. Luckily, Digby has a new job. It helps blind people travel around some places and many streets in London. It also helps blind people get to the bus station.

As we know, a guide dog has only eight years of working life, but a guide horse can live for about 50 years. So a guide horse can be a “lifelong friend” for people.

It is not possible to tell the importance of forests in just a few words. Forests affect (影响) our daily lives in so many ways, even in the busy noisy city centre. Just think about your life today: Do you have your breakfast? Read a newspaper? Turn on a light? Travel to work in a bus or car? Do your homework? Write on your notebook? Clean your hands with a tissue?

Forest products are used in our daily lives. All the activities above have something to do with forests. Some are easy to point out-fruits, paper and wood from trees, and so on. Others are less obvious (明显的)-they help make daily products like medicine. They not only help make our lives more convenient, but also make our Earth more beautiful and comfortable.

Forests help protect the sea, and the Earth is in good health because of them.

However, we are losing them. Over the past 50 years, about half the world’s forests have been lost. The most important reason for that is people’s activities like polluting the environment and cutting trees.

When we destroy the forests, we not only lose the trees. All the animals in the forests will also lose their homes. As this goes on, it’ll be harder and harder for us to survive on the Earth.
