Dear parents,

We plan a field trip to Sulphur Ridge for Grade Eight students on Friday, December 17th, 2022. This day is the last activity for the students for Grade Eight. Facial recognition technology (人脸识别技术) is widely used today. For example, police use it to search for bad guys. It’s also used to unlock phones, open doors or make quick payments. Even when people wear masks, they can be recognized. Now, a similar technology, known as facial detection (探测), is entering a new field: the business of advertising (广告).

Such systems (系统) are growing through tests in a small number of stores. One facial detection system can judge a person’s “happiness” or “fear” level.
