Tree houses are great places. They are houses that are built in the trees. Children can play and have fun with their friends there. Some children don’t play in a tree house because they can’t climb trees or they are afraid to stay in high places. But for some disabled(残疾的) children, tree houses are only a dream.

So Bill and Philip want to build tree houses for them. They wish everyone can have a good time in the tree houses. Their neighbors(邻居) come to help them, too. After about 7 days, they finish one tree house.

They ask Catherine and Jessica to visit the tree house. Philip asks, “What do you think of it?” “It is so cool,” Catherine answers. “It is also very big. I can get into it easily.”

Jessica thinks Catherine is right. “It is great! Now I can get into it by myself and don’t have to ask others for help,” she says.

Bill and Phillip are very happy about that. They think, “It’s a good way to make friends with these disabled children.”

In the UK, if you agree to meet friends at three o’clock, they’ll be there just after three. In Britain, people try to arrive on time. It is impolite to arrive even a few minutes late. If you can’t arrive on time, you should make a phone call to the person you are meeting.

If someone invites you to his birthday dinner at half past seven, you should arrive no later than 7:50. However, if an invitation says “sharp”, you must arrive no later than 7: 30.

Never accept an invitation if you don’t really plan to go. You may say, “Thank you for inviting me, but I can’t come.” After accepting, if you can’t go, be sure to tell the host that you will try to go but maybe you can’t go.

If you want to visit someone, it is polite to give a gift to your host. Flowers, chocolate, or a small gift are all popular. It’s good to show your thanks for the kindness. You can give a thank-you note or a telephone call after they visit.

Is the whale the world’s largest fish? No. It looks like a fish but it’s not a fish. Then what’s the world’s largest fish? It’s the whale shark.

A whale shark is sometimes called a “gentle giant”. The biggest whale shark weighs more than 12 tons and is nearly 66 feet long. This makes it heavier and longer than a school bus.

Inside its huge mouth are lots of very small teeth. To count all of them you’ll need to do arithmetic(计算). The whale sharks teeth are in rows. There are between eleven and thirteen rows on each jaw and around three hundred teeth in each row.

However, the whale shark hardly uses its teeth. It does not chew or bite its food.
