When I reached for the food, Pete said, “Let me take it out for you, madam.” But he didn’t need to do that because it wasn’t his job. Pete followed us until we found a table. He truly showed us great friendliness.

When enjoying the meal, I watched how Pete served (服务) others. I found it was the same showing great friendliness. In fact, Pete’s job was easy. He just needed to help order food. However, he loved the job and served everyone with friendliness. I learned a lot from him.

Around the world, you won’t find a wider or taller steel arch(钢拱支架)bridge than the Sydney Harbor Bridge. People started to build it 99 years ago. The Sydney Harbor Bridge stands 134 meters above the water and is 49 meters wide. It is 1,149 meters long in all.

Along with the Sydney Opera House, the bridge is a symbol of Sydney. People say: You haven’t seen Sydney until you see it from the bridge. Every year quite a few visitors see the bridge. Maybe what makes it very exciting is that you can take a trip to climb the bridge!

On the trip, people climb more than 1,000 steps to the top of the bridge. There, they get a great view of the harbor. Since the trips started in 1998, more than 4 million people have climbed the bridge.

The Sydney Harbor Bridge is popular with people of different ages. The youngest person to climb the bridge is 8, and the oldest is 100. Mary famous people have climbed the bridge too, like British soccer player David Beckham and US actor Will Smith.

The bridge is also famous as the “Iron Lung”. People built it during the Great Depression, a difficult time when many people lost jobs. Building the bridge gave many people jobs. After eight years of work, it opened on March 19, 1932.
