As one saying goes, where there are Chinese people, there are kung fu legends (传奇).Jin Yong, also known as Louis Cha, was regarded as one of________kung fu fiction writers in China. And for many people, Cha built a magical kung fu kingdom that they________escape into every now and then. But this kingdom is falling apart now, because Cha passed away on Oct 30, _______the age of 94.

There is________a knight (大侠) who values the friendship and love his country at the center of his stories. Such characters move________men and women.

Cha’s books bring readers joy, and Cha himself has________creating them. “Writing gives me space for imagination, just like a ______ ,” Cha told China Daily.________, Cha’s real aim in writing novels is to show traditional Chinese values and qualities through the characters and stories. Funny astronauts are wanted by NASA(美国国家航空航天局) which needs astronauts to join the flight to Mars in 2030.   

A trip to Mars and back to Earth would take around two years in a small spacecraft. So the team needs astronauts with a sense of humor during the long journey. They can help everyone get along well. They can also make the journey more enjoyable.

A scientist at the University of Florida told the newspaper, “ As astronauts we will fly the spaceship and do scientific experiments such as growing plants and repair the space ship. Many unpredictable(难以预料的) difficulties are waiting for us.” Then He added, “In stressful situations, perhaps humor is a way to know we aren’t alone. By laughing together, we share our stress. Then we can focus on our jobs instead of just worrying.”

Here are some of the requirements for astronauts from NASA. They must be smart, able to stay calm all the time and tell stories as well as jokes. Also, the astronauts need to have crazy wig(假发), oversized boots and big red noses. However being funny is not enough. They are supposed to be excellent scientists and engineers who can finish hard training.   

In the Spring and Autumn period (春秋时期), the state of Wu (吴国) and the state of Yue (越国) were neighbors. But there were always wars between them. During a war Wu beat Yue.

Goujian (勾践), the king of Yue, was caught. Fuchai (夫差), the king of Wu, wanted to make Goujian lose face. He sent Goujian to do some hard work, like feeding horses. Goujian was very angry, but he didn’t say anything. He just did what Fuchai asked him to do. When Fuchai got sick, Goujian looked after him day and night.

Three years later, Fuchai finally let Goujian go back to his own state. After getting home, Goujian began to plan hisrevenge. Goujian didn’t want to forget his hard time. So he slept on brushwood (柴草) at night and ate gall (胆) every morning. The brushwood was cold and the gall was bitter, just like his days in Wu. Goujian kept asking himself, “Did you forget the past three years?”

Goujian worked hard all the time. He worked with farmers and trained with soldiers. He made his people rich and his state strong. A few years later, Goujian led his army to beat Wu.

It tells us…Never be afraid of failures. If you have a strong will, then you can still be the winner.

When I was in college, a white cat liked to show up on our campus at times. It was clear that he was a stray (流浪的) cat because he looked thin and weak. Students would play with him after class and feed him all kinds of food. The school didn’t say anything about the cat for a long time.

But one day, we were told that one of the students had an infectious (传染性的) disease. and that the cat was possibly the source(起源). After that, we were not allowed to touch any stray animals on campus. The school started to make efforts to keep animals off campus as well.

Since we were not allowed to feed the white cat, it was hard for him to find food on the street. He became weak and skinny. But while the rest of us ignored (忽视) the cat, a security guard (保安) at our school decided to take on the responsibility of caring for him. He took the cat to an animal hospital for a health check. He then went to a nearby supermarket and bought food for the cat, as well as a small bed for him to sleep in. He made sure the cat was healthy and comfortable.

It might seem like a small effort to some people. But this man risked his job – his only source of income － just to feed a tiny cat who no one else cared for. It was a very heartwarming thing to see.
