On March 20, 2016, he was invited to be one of the judges (评委) at the finals for the 14th China Daily “21st Century New Oriental Cup” National High School and Primary English Speaking Competition. It was hard to find someone to practice with, so Lai created (创造) a learning environment on his own. “I just talked to myself as if I were in a dialogue,” he said. 文章大意:本文主要讲了阅读的方法。
【推荐3】阅读下面内容,从A—E中选出与题目内容相匹配的选项。

1     Think about it. You’ re reading along, and then you run into a word you don’t know. Will you guess its meaning? Will you stop to look it up? Whichever course of action you take, you are slowing your speed. If you know much more words, you will read faster.

2     When you’ re reading, your eyes often move back to earlier words. Most of the time, these movements don’t improve understanding. Use a card to cover words right after you read them, but you need to train yourself not to overuse this habit.

3     If you read a text word by word, then this will kill your reading speed. However, if you get into the habit of reading groups of words, then you can read much faster. Start by trying to look at a group of three or four words at a time.

4     Read the first one or two sentences of each paragraph. They will often tell you the main point of the paragraph. Then you can save time by skipping(略过) most of the part without missing the important messages.

5     Set a timer(定时器) for 15 minutes and see how many pages you can read during the period. Record your figures(6.5 pages/15 min or 7 pages/15 min). Do this every day or five days a week and try to beat your previous count.

A.Look at groups of words.
B.Test your speed regularly.
C.Read the beginning carefully.
D.Increase your vocabulary(词汇).
E.Cover words you’ve already read.
