The Ministry of Education (MOE) has realized this. On August 24, it issued (发布) a statement along with the Red Cross Society of China. It has asked all public schools in China to provide first aid courses, including CPR (心肺复苏) training, as part of their health classes. Then, how does CPR help? CPR is an important first aid skill that can save victims (受害者) of the cardiac arrest (心搏停止). The first few minutes are very important. Other countries have also made efforts to provide first aid training for their people. One victim told the BBB that they received a cheating letter about student loan. It contained a QR code that appeared to link to the official Studentaid. gov website. The QR code also helped the letter, which was part of a cheating, appear official.

As the QR codes have become more commonly used, the BBB notes that it has received reports of scammers using the system to their advantage across the United States. “This is much like a phishing scam,” Laura, director of marketing for Eastern Michigan, said. “Just like clicking links, you have to be careful what website you’re opening on your smartphone. If you’ve never heard of the organization or the website where the QR code is supposed to go to, that’s a huge red flag.” She said the use of the QR code by scammers offers another way to steal personal information or get you to download malware(恶意软件) onto your smartphone.

The scammers can now send messages to one or all people in a user’s address book, or even send a payment to where it cannot be recovered, according to the U. S. Army Major Cybercrime Unit. “In some scams, the QR code takes you to a phishing website, where you are required to enter your personal information for scammers to steal,” the BBB warned. “Other times, scammers use QR codes to payment apps or follow a bad social media account.”

Scams can differ, but the scammers want you to scan the code right away. What you need to do, though, is to step back and make sure any information is legitimate(合法的) before you scan the code. Phone the friend or coworker directly to see what they might have sent, and make sure the sender wasn’t hacked.

Adam Levin, an expert, says it’s a good rule of thumb to turn your smartphone off and restart it regularly. “Many forms of malware that live in your smartphone, such as spyware, depend on the device never being turned off.” Levin said.

Colour psychologist Karen Haller said, “Colour is a great way to lift our spirits and boost. our moods in an instant. Our confidence can be boosted when we wear colours that we love and feel good in. We instinctively feel and behave differently around colours because of how we take the colours in through our eyes and through the part of our brain where our emotions reside.”

For many animals, an island can be a great place to live. Water all around keeps big predators away. But islands have their own dangers. Food and water are limited. A storm or volcano can easily wipe out a whole population or change the land in big ways. If a predator (like cats or rats) does arrive, there’s no escape. These challenges can cause island animals to evolve (进化) quite differently from their mainland ancestors (祖先). So, islands around the world are home to rare species found nowhere else.

The Galápagos are a group of small volcanic islands in the Pacific Ocean, 600 miles (966km) west of Ecuador. When these islands first erupted (喷发) from the sea, they were empty of life. Over time, plant seeds blew or drifted there. Birds arrived, bringing more seeds. Tortoises and iguanas (鬣蜥) floated over on logs.

When scientist Charles Darwin visited the Galápagos in 1835, he noticed something interesting. Many of the islands had similar animals—iguanas, land tortoises, small birds. But these animals were a bit different on each island. On one island, birds called finches had long, narrow beaks —right for catching bugs. But on the next island, the finches had short, strong beaks. That island had more seeds, and fewer bugs. Each type of finch had a beak that matched the most common food on its island. He found similar differences in the tortoises and iguanas.

After thinking about this for many years, Darwin’s observations led him to a startling new idea. He realized that each family of animals probably shared a common ancestor—the original birds or turtles who flew or drifted there. Gradually, as they spread to different islands, the young with traits that best suited the food on that island did better. But since each island was different, the birds or turtles on each island evolved slightly different traits. He called this idea “natural selection”.

Darwin’s idea explained more than just the Galápagos. It also explains why islands are so often home to unusual animals. Islands separate animals from others of their kind and present them with new challenges. Those animals that do best on an island many not be the same ones who did best on the mainland. So over time, they become different.
