Once, some fish lived in a pond (池塘). One evening, some fishermen passed by the pond and saw the fish. “This pond is full of fish!” they told each other excitedly. “We must come back tomorrow morning and catch them!” they said.
When the oldest of the fish heard this, he was worried. He called the other fish together and said, “Did you hear what the fishermen said? We must leave this pond at once. The fishermen will return tomorrow and kill us all.” The second oldest of the fish agreed. But the younger fish laughed. He said, “We have lived in this pond all our lives, and no fishermen have ever come here. Why should these men return? I am not going anywhere. My luck will keep me safe.”
The oldest of the fish left the pond that evening with his family. The second oldest of the fish saw the fishermen coming the next morning and left the pond with all his family at once. The younger fish didn’t want to leave even then.
The fishermen caught and killed all the fish left in the pond.
The first fish that saw trouble ahead (预先) and acted before trouble arrived and the fish who acted as soon as trouble came both survived (幸存). But the fish that depended on (依赖) luck and did nothing at all died. It is also the case (情况) in life.

The only difference was that someone got those covers and chewed (咀嚼) them into shapelessness. On another part of the table, I saw the color markers dried up without covers. I was almost sure I knew who had done it and I could not understand the reasons behind his actions.
As I was thinking about my discovery, my annoyance and anger gradually went away when I remembered that as a child, I did several strange things that must have made my mother mad. I cut our shoes, I chewed pens and pencils, and I wrote and drew pictures on walls and destroyed many things at home. The mind of a child is curious with the spirit of exploration, trying to understand and test the limits (限制) of many things. Of course, it can be costly, but what is growing up if no mistakes are made?
We call it paying the school fees of life. If a child plays with a hot iron and it burns him, he will probably not go near the iron again. Sometimes I watch the children in my neighborhood playing dangerous games. Sometimes I tell them not to do it, but sometimes I let it pass. Children may not want to be told to stop riding as fast as they want until someone has fallen off their bike. A child will not listen when his parents ask him to get down from the tree until he has fallen down. However, if the behavior is deadly, you should stop it in time.
Creativity is valuable. And this is why we should encourage children to remain creative rather than just receive everything they have known and seen. Allow children to make mistakes, but this must be followed with supervision (监督), monitoring, and correction.

A businessman’s son wanted to learn the secret of happiness from the wisest man. The boy walked through the desert for forty days until he reached a beautiful castle at the top of a mountain where the wise man lived.
When he entered a room, the boy was so surprised: businessmen coming and going, people chatting in the corners, a small band playing sweet music, and all kinds of delicious dishes on a large table.
The wise man talked with everyone. The boy had to wait for two hours until it was his turn.

Known as the birthplace of kites, Weifang in Shandong province has a long history of making kites. According to local artisans, the Weifang kite-making can date back to 2,000 years ago. At first, they were often used for measuring distances and communicating. During the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), kites started to be popular among ordinary people as entertainment. In 2006, the Weifang kite-making was included in the national-level intangible cultural heritage(非物质文化遗产) lists.
Yang Hongwei, 56, was born into a kite-making family. Yang often saw kites with bright colors and different shapes in her grandfather’s workshop. “Every time I see these beautiful kites, my sadness and down feelings go away,” said Yang. For example, she once made a kite showing a phoenix head (凤头) lined with paintings of 50 famous women in Chinese history on each side. Though the idea was cool, the process was not easy. Yang said that each woman had different characters in appearance, clothing and the makeup style. To create their images, she spent much effort and time checking historical records or discussing the details with experts.
In her spare time, she also travels to different countries including Germany, Australia, the US and New Zealand to tell people about Chinese stories seen on kites and the traditional ways of making kites. “I’m an inheritor of the culture.
