I’d like to share my suggestions about studying with you. “Studying” is not the same thing as “doing homework”! Studying may include doing homework, but it also includes a lot more, as you will see. So if you say that you have no homework, and therefore you can’t or you don’t have to study, you’re mistaken!

C. Study hard and study in a quiet place.
D. Read texts actively and slowly. Do it before and after class.

It all comes down to dopamine(多巴胺).Dopamine is a chemical in our body that sends signals to the brain. It has many important roles—it affects our memory, attention span(时间或空间的跨度)and how we learn. Our brains work best when there is a balance of dopamine—not too much or too little.
Our brains control dopamine in two ways. It either takes out dopamine quickly or gradually(逐渐地).Exam success can be linked to how fast dopamine goes back to an even(均匀的)balance, according to new research from the University of Missouri.
What happens when we take an exam? If you become stressed, your brain will start to overload on dopamine. It is like a cup overflowing with water. The quicker you are able to go back to an even balance of dopamine, the quicker you can concentrate, helping you perform better on a test.
Scientists found that during a test, people who slowly got back to an even balance of dopamine scored eight percent lower. That’s the difference between a good grade and a bad grade.
But don’t fear—there is good news for very student. The study also found that the more practice you get, the less stressed you’ll be.
So, it turns out that practice really does make perfect.

Students just learn their lessons in the city. They are from the age of 15 to 18. The students choose areas of work they are interested in. Then they help to do that work. One girl spends her week in a Mayor’s(市长) office helping with problems like housing. Then she goes to help in a theatre for a day and she spends a week for first-year courses at college.
Well, students have to pass Maths and Science exams before they go into the “school”. These subjects are not easy to learn in “City-as-School”. Teachers watch the progress of the students. About 80% of the students can go to college after the “City-as-School”.
The students won’t forget the duty of their work. They know a lot about different kinds of work in the city. Liz Martin, writes “I do not know where I will be right now if I never become part of City-as-School. Leaving the high school and then going to City-as-School is the best decision(决定)I make. Do you know how small this school is? Well, there are only three classrooms. And there is only one teacher. Her name is Yang Wenqing. She is 53 years old.
Ms. Yang has 22 students. Dengyunzhai village is home to many “left-behind children (留守儿童)”. In the school, 15 of the 22 students are left-behind children. In Luxi county, there are 128 small schools like this. In 18 of these schools, there is only one student.
The students in Ms. Yang’s school go to school from Monday to Friday. They go home at 16:00. After the students leave, Ms. Yang cleans the classrooms. She’s always the last one to leave the school. What a nice teacher Ms. Yang is!

However, over the next few months, Lipkin found herself with less and less work to do. In April, she lost her job with no explanation. She realized why she had lost her job later when she heard managers talking about how using ChatGPT was cheaper than hiring (雇用) a human writer.
Lipkin was not alone. Eric Fein, a 34-year-old man in the U.S. state of Illinois, opened a writing company for ten years. He became jobless last March. All his clients (客户) told him they no longer needed his services because they were turning to ChatGPT. Fein warned them that ChatGPT couldn’t write with his level of creativity. His clients said they understood, but it was far cheaper to use the chatbot (聊天机器人) than to pay him.
Experts (专家) think that A.I. systems (人工智能系统) like ChatGPT could make hundreds of millions of people lose their jobs in the future. But for those who write posts and advertisements on the Internet, the effect is already here. They also say that even the best A.I. systems can’t compare with the writing skills of a human. It doesn’t have a personal voice or style. Besides, it often gives the wrong answers.

But now as grown-ups, some adults find they cannot leave childhood behind. They become “kidults”. Being a kidult has become a lifestyle choice among young people across Asia. Some kidults collect toys they once played with such as Hello Kitty, Garfield.
Other kidults still enjoy children’s stories and fairy tales. For example, the British publisher(出版商) Bloomsbury even released an edition of the Harry Potter novels with an adult cover. That way, no one else on the subway will know that an adult is actually reading a children’s book.
“Kidults can be like vitamins to society. Child-like emotions(情感) maybe needed in such a hard society,” said Lee So-jung, a professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. He added that kidult culture may fill the generation gap(代沟) between adults and kids. It could give children and their parents books, cartoon shows and movies to enjoy together.
Tim Greenhalgh, an adviser to London explained that some kidults just refuse to grow up. They stick to childhood because working life in a busy and stressful city make them scared. Five years later, Starbucks seemed to
Some people still think that the Starbucks shop should not be opened near temples. They think it is not only a coffee shop, but a cultural invasion(文化侵略). Let us take a look at the practices in other countries. In the Forbidden City of South Korea, Gyongbokkung Palace(景福宫), there are no food or drink stores, except the food-selling machine at the gate. In Japan, the place of interest may be taken away from the list of country’s treasure if it brings in modern shops.
However, many old sights in China try to look for a balance(平衡) between traditions and business. As for Nanjing, the Starbucks shop near the Confucius Temple has been there for years. Visitors are used to enjoying the sights and the coffee at the same time. The shop here plans to meet the need of growing numbers of foreign and younger Chinese visitors. There may be more win-win deals in the future like this.
